I've got a complete extra setup if you need anything to get it installed.

I can't get any wire for the welder till about 8am or id finish it tonight. I could prolly be ready to leave the house about 10. I think its about an hours drive from my place.

Im game for that. Just pulled down my cb. Its from the 70's. Was my grampas, he died in 1980. Was a big ham radio guy. Had it in an old ford i used to have forever. Havent used it in 15 years. Time to dust it off. Still lookin for wire. I know i have some.

That works, wouldn't have any .30 or .35 shielded welding wire would you?

Its just a 110 welder. .024 works better in it. Up to about 12 gauge is max. I only use my welder to tack stuff or do light gauge body work. Everything else i bring to work.

.024 actually welds hotter and makes a much niser weld in most 110 welders. I used to swear by .030 until i used our portable welder at work with .024.

For thinner stuff that is the limit of a 110 welder .024 is right there in the ideal range. .030 works but its a bit too much fill which cools the weld. Of course you can adjust wire speed to a point but unless you have a 110 machine on max heat all the time its better to use .024. .035 is pretty much intended for metal thickness beyond the power of a 110 machine so not a good choice. In my opinion .024 runs smoother and makes a nicer weld, on a 110 machine. It will still do full penetration on 12 gauge (.100) steel.

The problem I've got it on quick measurement i thought i grabbed 1/4" plate. After doing some work with it i realized its 3/8". So i gotta figure out how to get the best penetration i can out of my hot box

Grind the piss outta both sides. Bevel it in to about to 1/8" thick where it meets, then burn the hell outa it. Fill in your bevel with weld. Best you can get.

If anyone comes across a SYE and CV DS let me know, I need one. I'd also be willing to give someone my T-case and DS + cash if they have a T-case with with the SYE already in it.

Nahhhh I'll just sell my jeep and buy another one that already has a SYE...I hear those Jeep Rubicons are really nice, I think I want a JK one though. They have REAL Dana 44s and ARB lockers in them, The Pentastar V6 has to be better than my trusty ol I-6, and those body lines are just amazing. BRB I'm going to go to Barton and buy one...
