15hp mercury

Okay so me and my freind pulled a old mercury 15hp boat motor that has been sitting in his house for a long time. We got it running real good but the lower unit has a leak and I can't gat the prop shaft bearing carrier out. I was told a spanner wrench would work to get it out. Take a look and I would love any ideas to try to get it off.

This is what I trying to remove.

How about a punch and a few taps with a hammer or go all out and find a piece pipe the same diameter as the nut, cut out 3 notches to fit the nut nicely slide the pipe over the shaft then use a pipe wrench on the pipe.

You need a "BFH" and a hot wrench!
Like my grand-daddy always said:
If you can't beat it...Burn it or blow it up!

Yeah...Grandma never let him work on the washing machine!
