Thats not a hard drive though, thats a compact flash or solid state drive. There are no moving parts.

This is the worlds smallest hard drive, 8GB and only 8 grams.

That 1GB drive came in this box:

The IBM 3380 sold for upwards of $100K What a difference 32 years makes. I started working in a mainframe shop in 1984. Our DASD (disk space) totaled slightly more than the 8 gb thumb drive I have plugged into my laptop as I type this. I paid $39 for my thumb drive, they paid over a million $'s.

Stepdad had a computer in the 80's that cost $100,000. Filled the whole room. Just for payroll. There are Cell phones that do more now for a couple hundred bucks. My comp, (when I ordered it) cost $900 bucks. It was "all I needed" "top of the line", etc. By the time it got to me, I coulda bought something 3 times as fast, for the same dough. I am about to buy a new computer, that blows this one away, for 300. Amazing.
