Unhappy 2 1/2 months and counting

its been 2 1/2 months since i've been home and its not looking like ill go back home for another month. its cool because more work equals more money but thats a long time to be away from home. it doesn't sound like that long to be away but it really is. i don't feel that homesick during the week, its when everybody i work with goes home that it really hits me. i know there's a lot of active and retired military on the forum so you guys and gals should know how i'm feeling right now. getting to travel is cool and everything and i'm getting it out of my system while i'm still young (23). well i guess that's about it, just had to share with somebody.

You know, it's a funny thing being gone from home so much. While I'm gone long term, I usually can't wait to get home. After I've been home a few months, part of me craves to be gone again....fully aware of the fact that I'll want to be home as soon as I get to where I'm going. You get used to homesick and missing family and friends, it just takes time. It never goes away but it gets easier to deal with.

What really helps is having your brothers right there with you....my other family.

Well, being home sick means you care about home. Abstinence makes things more precious. Next time you go back you'll notice things you used to take for granted. Time is weird, it flies by when you don't want it to and it drags when you want it to go by quickly. Try to be curious of what's ahead. Life, it's all good.
