Tarantulas are cool and pretty harmless. We get them in our back yard and simply move them to open space.

HaHa!
Lucky me! The only scary spiders we get around here are Hobo's and Black Widows.
Fortunately, my shoe > scary spider

Around here we love our spiders. They kill off the other insects that we don't like. Spiders and bats are our friends.

Yeah the are harmless
but still scary.
I had one by my garage, and got my pool skimmer and got it in the basket. Only problem was that is started crawling down the line towards me and I freaked. I ended up launching it over 70 feet over 4 neighbors houses lol
whoops.

we get black widows and the brown recluse here. black widows can kill small children and the recluse can kill adults. it's aggressive too.

I'm not scared of spiders, but I do kill widows and the recluse on the spot. my girlfriend and cat are afraid of spiders, so anything they find I'm alerted and called to destroy.

We have spiders of all shapes and sizes here. They make a huge mess in the garage, can't keep up with their webs & carcai from their meals.

I figure that there are enough of them out here that if I kill the ones I see, they won't be missed.

I don't specifically mind spiders normally, but I've had a not-so-fun experience with Black Widows when we lived in Virginia. Figured I'd share.

We were living in half of a two-level duplex and had a front and back door. Front door went into the foyer and living room, back door into the kitchen. We normally didn't use our front door much because we'd park on the side of the house and go in through the back door, into the kitchen.

For some reason, my husband decided to go out the front door when he was leaving early for PT. He was an instructor for one of the transportation officer courses at the time and needed to be there way, way earlier than everyone else. As he swings the door open, this big Black Widow falls from above the door and onto the ground in the foyer. At that point, thousands of tiny little baby spiders came off the mom and started going every which way on the floor. It was like the entire floor was alive with spiders.

That was the ONLY time I've ever screamed like a girl and hurtled halfway up the stairs at the sight of spiders. LOL It was something you'd have seen in a horror movie, all the spiders going every which way. URGH.

there's a guy at work that got bit on the back of the leg. he said the doc had a scalpel in the thing and he didn't feel it. it destroyed the nerves I guess, and rotted out a nice little chunk of his calf.

I feel for you. those spiders suck. I've got a recluse out back under my porch living. it's such a weird area I can't nail her with a good shot. my luck I'll miss and get attacked. I guess they're highly aggressive spiders. I already have witnessed how fast they are, I hear they can jump too. so I haven't messed with it

I don't know if it was coincidence or not, but out of the 3 states I lived in, Illinois by far had the BIGGEST spiders I've seen. it might be the fact the place I was living in had a dirt cellar, but man that state had some monsters.
