92 Vulcan 500

Any of you motorcycle fans remember the Kawazaki 454 LTD? I had an 88 model. Awesome, powerful bike for a 500. I only had it a year. I just found a 92 Vulcan 500 needing a new battery, carb cleaning, and a few other minor repairs, for 500.00 locally. This was a later generation of the 454. I have to get this ride. Check it out.

I don't know much about bikes but I'll say $ 500 couldn't be a bad deal. Even if it were a total POS you wouldn't be out too much money.

I looked high and low for a bike but I couldn't find one where my feet would touch the ground so I gave up.

Sorry to hack the tread. Looks like its in ok shape. The nice thing about older bikes are they are easy to fix. good luck.

Thanks. One thing I like about this model is the 28 inch seat height. I'm 5'6" too. Anyway...to help fund the bike, check the For Sale forum for the gps I'm selling.

If I hadn't just blown most of my mad money on those 2 meter radios or I'd be all over that.
You might want to hit ebay or craigslist to move it a bit faster.

Sweet deal! Remember the Kawasaki Mach 3 500? Had one of those, after my Triumph 650tt. Scarey! I always like the Vulcan series, they just looked like a sweet ride!

Helmet always.
Probably no more than a C note. I just have to clean the carbs, rebuild the front brake (easy) and replace the two rear turn signals. I might have to buy a battery also. I'm going to look at it today and lock it in.

NO, I know I should wear a Helmet but I don't like to. The funny thing is I just bought my wife and I brand new ones for $500.00 and i have a $675.00 race helmet that I had for my crotch rocket.

I guess some day I'll start wearing them.

I am rebuilding a 78 KZ 650 in my front room now.

Tiny check out the ninja 250, I think it has plenty of power
advertised 105 mph but i have only been able to get it up to 85-90.
Cheap to insure and cost just above $3000 brand new.
and I get about 60 mpg with it if I take it easy.

With I could see the pic at work. I'll check it out when I get home. I also re-read my first post, I meant to say I had an 84 454 LTD, not an 88. I can't remember what year they became the Vulcan 500. The guy I'm trying to buy this one from is a Deputy US Marshall so he isn't very easy to get a hold of. Hopefully I can get it in the garage and start tearing it apart soon. Oh, GPS for sale in the For Sale forum,,,,anyone, anyone????

Finally got a look at this pic. I love finding project like this. I wish I could find a deal like this here, I could do a lot with that bike. Hope it works out well for you.
