94 4.0 engine in an 04 wrangler

i have a buddy that has an 94 grand cherokee engine the hes sellin for 600. would this fit in my 04 wrangler with the 4.0 just wanna make sure before i buy

Not sure if it will fit but some states will not allow you to put an older engine than the vehicle year. Might want to check that first.
