a favor to ask...

Yup, I have a favor to ask of the board. I'd like to use you all as guinea pigs. I know, it sounds awful. It won't take too much time and it's purely volunteer. No shots or pills. Promise

Many of you know I fancy myself a bit of a writer and I'm trying to get some pieces ready for submission. I'd like a couple people to read two short stories and give me some honest feedback. No, you will not hurt my feelings if you hate them.

Just so you know, the stories are horror. I've been turned down from places because my work is so dark so don't expect my normal light stuff like you all see here.... every freaking day in every freaking thread...

I have a fantastic writing partner who I value greatly, but he's read these two pieces blind and I need some fresh eyes for that final push.

If you'd like to give me a little help to get some more work published, shoot me a PM and I'll give you the blind page that I have them on and then I'll ask you a couple questions... No, not like a test. I swear.

Thanks guys.

I would volunteer, but I like to stay in the light. Even all this rain around here, is bumming me out.

Thanks Steelman. And no problem, Blu, I understand completely. Horror's not for everyone and my stuff that's not horror is on the sad side. Missed chances and the like, so let's keep you reading the funnies

debruins....

Come on, I don't post that much......

I have some light pieces from my mother's catholic school days, but they aren't ready for anyone to read yet. Most of my stuff is dark or kinda sad. When I attempted an "adventure" type story (and by attempted, I mean I wrote a 300 page novel) it was rejected as being too dark. I'm reworking it into an Urban Horror.

I would love to read them but I head out to the woods in the morning and there is no internet or cell service at all for 2 weeks. I'm sure they are awesome based on what I have read on your site already. You need to write a horrer story about all of us here at WF. I at least want to make it to chapter 3 before you kill me off though. :chair:

Big thanks to everyone who volunteered to read those stories, and since I'm going to ask each of you a very specific question that I can't ask here because it will give it away, please take special notice of the names in "The Forbidden Place".
