That was AWESOME. I would think a slap on the wrist and saying you boys are not allowed to do football flybys anymore. But to tell them thanks for playing good bye is a little harsh. These guys are the best of the best and they wanted to give the crowd a little roar. I bet you money everybody in that stadium went nuts (good nuts) when those guys were basically on the field. I have been to air shows were they buzz you pretty good, that is probably one of the coolest things ever- K I have to watch it again

What a crock. Yes that was a little low but to ground those pilots is a huge waste of my taxpayer's $$$ I spent to train them. We are now in an era of total over-reaction to way too many things.

They should castrate those pilots(so not to create more pilots who may buzz football fields in the future)and dismantle the planes and turn them into pepsi cans(cause I like pepsi).I also feel they should put the maintenance crew on permanent leave because without their mechanical abilities, those planes would have never left the tarmac.Maybe put them in pink flight suits and send them to the evil sheriff in maricopa county. That'll learn them suns a beaches.

I didn't see a problem with it. It's not like they were barely trained terrorists trying to crash into the stadium. I'm sure they were in complete control and probably could have safely gone lower.

If it had been anyone except a couple of our extremely highly trained military pilots, I would say that was way too low. However, come on man... These guys are so well trained it isn't even funny.

I trust those guys WAY more than I trust that guy I posted about who buzzed the beach. It's our military for crap's sake - isn't stuff like this part of their job?

On another note, I bet the people in the nosebleed seats behind those jets felt a nice warm breeze hehehehe

I already agreed to the fly by. I can't stop watching it and going HOW COOL was that. Like has been posted- I would put money on it that they could make the cut between the seats on the side they came in on got into the 15 foot off the field and then climbed up out of it without people they are that good.

You guys and gals should really watch some of the fly by's that guys do over seas. harriers 20 feet off the deck doing 200-300 mph! Amazing flying

Georgia Tech is located in the heart of downtown Atlanta. I did not see any problem with their altitude while passing over the field as I'm sure the fans loved it. More then likely the complaints came from residents of the 50 story, million dollar plus condos that they buzzed entering and exiting. It's a shame that these young pilots are being punished for doing their jobs. We have these jets perform fly-byes at Road Atlanta for every major event, they fly low and we wouldn't want it any other way.

Now I could see them losing there wings if right when they got over top of that building or right before it they went full throttle and blew the windows out of it. Even tho the boom of them going full throttle then about 6 seconds later making the sonic boom would of made that SO MUCH better.

I have been lucky enough to see and hear a plane go super sonic. It is SWEET!

From the article it sounds like the only person that was angry was the one person who had the final word on the matter. Politically motivated? Iuno but the guy sure sounds like he wears tighty whities. =P

As a kid growing up we used to hear the 'boom' a bunch of times. When people started complaining about broken windows and things they put an end to them. It used to wake you up. I miss it.

Okay, let me say I did not read the story only going by the video. 2nd, many years ago in a former life, I flew airplanes, and not the RC kind. That being said.. they where too low, also it appears that the gear was down, which means they where going really slow. Which means if a problem happened loss of engine etc., and they needed to kick in power, they may have lost too much altitude before they could recover, and perhaps crashed into the stadium or other building. As I recall you must be 1000 feet above the highest ground point when over a populated area. That way you can have a chance to recover the aircraft or at least try to find a spot to set it down.

Wow I had forgotten about the sonic booms that were pretty common when I was a kid. We loved them, they were so cool to hear and us kids just grinned whenever they'd happen. We used to hear our parents say it was the sound of freedom.
