A Sign of Impending Doom......

Ok, so the stock market tanked and I lost $60k out of my IRA in a little less than two weeks. No big deal.... I'm, Ok with it because I still have 15 years left before I retire and I believe in the cycle of the market. Everything cycles; we've been here before and have recovered. We’ll recover from this, I'm not all that worried about the market or the state of the economy.

Then this morning I saw this: Mothers Cookies

Gone forever! Surely a sign of a coming apocalypse........ How can we ever go on without frosted animal cookies?

You should be.
The great depression was a simple recession until da gubment started manipulating the markets...

This really is a sign of something very bad coming.[/tinfoil hat]

Any one notice it was McCain who wants to stop the mandatory age 70 requirement to sell your 401K at a loss right now, he's thinking ahead. If Obama/biden were on the ball they would have come up with that idea first if they really cared.
Here's a good watch, have a paper/pencil handy for checking the facts.

Hey Unlimited, you have to realize that all that money you had in your 401k only existed in your head.

All that money you've lost — where did it go? - Yahoo! News

As for the cookies... let them eat cake!!!

OK.... I gave you a chance to figure it out and no one did. This thread is about COOKIES damm it! The value of an IRA that is heavly vested in the market will ebb and flow. It's a cycle, the goal is to not panic and just roll with it. I'm not letting a "percieved" loss phase me, you shouldn't either. Like I said earlier, we've been here before, we'll be here again.

Don't you understand that when a company that has been in business for 92 years (opened in 1916) closes, it means that there is something very wrong going on. This company made it through the "great depression" for pete's sake! I blame it on the health nuts that tell us that cookies are not good for us. Them, and the government.

You watch..... First it's Mothers, next will be Pepperage Farm, then Mr's Fields. Nestle's has stopped printing the Toll House recipe on the pack of chocolate chips. I'm telling ya, they're takin' away our cookies and I for one am really afraid!

Well, I'm off to Wal-mart to stock up on frosted animal cookies!
