I was in Afghanistan last Christmas and it sucks to be away from family during the holidays. Then you add in all the extra security measures we had to do for Christmas and it just made it that much harder. Killing Americans on a Christian holiday would be a Big deal for the bad guys overthere.

Thank you for this. Hubby is there now; it's never easy no matter when they go, but it's always worse around the holidays. I'm just ready to be past them. (Not in a bah humbug way, but, you know).
