Almost had the Jeep i wanted! Suck!

So I finally found an 06 rubi with under 50k in my price range, receive approval with an acceptable rate, and then make plans to head to atl to make dp and pick only to have my wifes 08 sonota blow the engine at 90000. So now my dp goes to finding a used engine and my whole next check goes to the mechanic to instal. Needles to say this week sucks! Bye bye rubi. My GC died in march and we've been living off of one car. If anyone knows where I could find a used 2.4 L 4 cy sonota engine it would be a big help! No one has been able to locate one. I'm in nw ga willing to travel a reasonable distance to save a buck.

Scrap the sonata, buy the jeep. Lol

Though now that I think of it, Hyundai has a 100k mile powertrain warranty. The engine should be covered by manufacturers warranty. Contact a dealer ASAP.

That's what I thought but we are the second owner so it's 60000/5yrs instead. Had I known that I would have bought the extended warranty.

I'd try calling Hyundai's corporate office and fighting with them on it. They're more likely to be helpful rather than your local dealer. They should stand behind they're initial warranty whether you're the first owner or not. Its BS for a motor to blow at 90k on a 3/4 year old car.
