Honestly I thought it was ok. I am a huge fan of the UK version. And to hold the american version to the same standard as the UK version isn't fair. Granted its baised on the UK version, but its a whole new set of hosts. I think we need some time to let them meld together and get to know them.
I dident care for the shakey in car camera they had in the viper and the lambos.
I agree that it is only the 2nd show but im going to keep watching it untill my head explodes only because i like cars. 98tj i live in dayton but i have parents who live in sandusky. know of any good place to off road up north??
oh and you can keep the uk top gear theme but you dont have to copy and paste the whole show. like the stig, they couldnt have found some other way to do the power lap driver? ijust hope that in the end it does not take the uk top gear off the air at some point b/c the American top gear failed.
The American versions focus is on the challenges, it is purely for entertainment.
The UK's version focuses first on the cars, and then on the challenges.
While many people (non-car people) would like the American version more, I am a car guy and prefer to watch a show based around the cars.
I could not believe how bad the us version is. Sooo boring. The uk guys totally make the show. I think the us show needs at least one older guy to balance it out.
I think the main difference is that the three BBC presenters have broad literate careers.
Between them they have written over 30 books, appeared in dozens of programs and write weekly columns for the major newspapers and magazines of Britain. That breadth of experience allows a much more professional and casual conversation. They make it look easy because, for them it is.
