Cut from the California thread to avoid total hijack.

Thank god! I'm Irish, my family had to bust its collective ass to become legal citizens. No one EVER GAVE us ANYTHING!!!

As for the picture:

Hey Paco!!! I already know how to make a burrito. So go the hell back to the Home Depot and SHUT THE #$%& UP!!!
Hows about this sign?
Hey Illegals!...No Illegals---> No Stupid looking tricked out new Ford trucks with fringes on the windshield and "Viva La Mexico" flags pasted all over it.
Or....
No Illegals---->No Problem!
Now that I can live with!
Just my two cents!

What's even funnier to me, the "burrito" is an American invented food. A traditional Mexican "burrito" is a totally different animal than what is served to us here in the U.S.

And, I don't need you. I can make my own food !

Ee gads, I think El Presedente Jorge is trying to completely destroy any credibility he had with conservatives.
He now plans to visit the senate and twist some arms to bring this insanity back to the table.

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20070608/...psRl6ATw6yFz4D

Quote:

President Bush, trying to recover from a stinging setback on immigration, will personally try in a visit to the Capitol next week to revive the embattled plan for legalizing millions of unlawful immigrants.

Bush's scheduled lunch on Tuesday with GOP senators is part of a campaign by the White House and allies in both parties to placate or outmaneuver conservative Republicans who blocked the broad immigration measure this week. They said Friday they would try again to reach accord on the number of amendments the dissidents could offer.

Why would anyone who's not a citizen of this country think they have a say in this country? Can I go to Canada and insist I'm given free cheese, a Tuque, and all the rights of a Canadian?

What's a Tuque? and does it taste like chicken?

ETA: Ahhh, and they come with pom-pon

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tuque
Quote:
A tuque (Canadian French: tuque, sometimes also spelled toque or touque in English) is a knitted hat, originally of wool though now often of synthetic fibers, that is designed to provide warmth in winter. All tuques are tapered, and they often are topped with a pom-pon. Tuques may have a folded brim, or none, and may be worn tightly fitting the skull or loose on top although the latter is considered more standard. The tuque usually is considered Canada's national winter hat, much like the fur hat is in Russia.
No, you can't go to Canada and demand one, they'd probably give you one though, they're friendly like that

Yeah, Ol GWB doesn't have much to stand on anymore. 32% approval rating won't get you very far in the Senate. But personally living right in the middle of the ILLEGAL ALIEN problem I've gotta say that I won't be sad if they scrap it.

I mean seriously how are they going to collect all of this money from the people they want to make legal?

Skeeter, you readin the AZ paper buddy?

I don't think those fat cats want to solve the problem. It's the working guys who get hurt as their jobs get taken by cheap labor. The fat cats make more money and need illegals to watch their kids, cut their lawns and clean the houses. I'm tired of this crap and I cut my own lawn!

I've changed jobs (used to be a contractor) about 10 times because of the illegal aliens. Contractors using them undercut prices so much that u can't afford to do business. Even though I have been called back to fix the sub standard work that was done by others , the price difference was so great that I had to change what I was doing. Went from roofing to stair carpentry to storage buildings to floors etc. Even though the work was sub par, the prices they were charging were so low that legitimate contractors were driven away. It just ain't right! I think that when we catch illegals, we should put them to work (for free) to build a freekin' huge wall on the border!

OH NOW I GET IT!!!!! You and Mexico are working together!!!!
You guys had this planned all along! Divert our attention to the southern border, then waltz right in from the north!
I'm on to you!!!!!

First you softened us up by sending in an advanced force of Actors and Musicians like Mike Myers, Leslie Nielson, John Candy and Robert Goulet. And don't even get me started on the Baldwins...
Then you started force feeding us delicious foods like Back Bacon and Challupas!
Then your next wave were crack teams of "Home Depot Commandos" from the south! Millions of them. I've seen them peer at me while I'm in uniform...Glaring at me above the freshly trimmed hedges or from the back of that lawn mower that you can stand on. And I never turned my back on that one guy putting up sheet rock!!!
And before you know it.....RED DAWN all over again! PLEASE HELP US CHUCK NORRIS!!!!!!

I thought I might post the links below because what has been happening here in the United States infuriates me as it should everyone else who is native born or worked their butts off EARNING their citizenship.

From what I understand If I go to Mexico and work illegally, I would spend a long time in Jail. Mexico does not allow jobs to be taken away from Mexicans, no matter what the job is. Why should it be different for us here in the states.

Here are the links.
http://www.worldnetdaily.com/news/ar...TICLE_ID=51746

http://washingtontimes.com/national/...1616-2046r.htm

This is not isolated and if you search the net you will find many more news stories like this. The one that happened at a California highschool during a protest was a total lack of respect and I will be nice and just say it gets my blood pressure up.

http://www.snopes.com/photos/politics/mexicoflag.asp

I'm glad it didn't pass and now we need to enforce the laws we have had for many years. Not just sweep a huge problem under the rug.

I think you're right Odhinn, but I think the first thing to deal with is the people here who hire them, even on the most caasual of levels.

My yard is full of weeds and the guys ride by on their bikes and ring my door bell all the time but my answer is always no. No, I have no work for you. They look around my yard like "yeah right lady".

Would it be easier if I just hired a couple of guys to take care of my yard? Sure as hell would. I've got three landscaped acres. But it's the principle of it. The easy path is not always the right path. People need to remember that their actions, even on the smallest level, have a ripple effect.

Yeah I definately agree, go after the people that hire illegals. There are laws that pertain to companies and people that hire them, but they are rarely enforced unless the mob (media and American citizens) decide it is important that day and attack them.

OC is fine as far as I know. We just got back from a trip to Wisc. About 1200 miles one way in the Jeep. We are both recovering.

Proof positive they are bringing in foreign workers to steal American jobs.

City law firm's immigration video sparks an Internet firestorm

Friday, June 22, 2007
By Anya Sostek, Pittsburgh Post-Gazette

What started as a simple marketing video for Downtown law firm Cohen & Grigsby has resulted in an Internet firestorm encompassing tens of thousands of YouTube viewers, Lou Dobbs and the U.S. Secretary of Labor.

The video features portions of Cohen & Grigsby's "Seventh Annual Immigration Law Update," held May 15 at the Pittsburgh Hilton, Downtown.

The video that's causing all the furor.

The segment of the video drawing all the attention is one in which lawyers from Cohen & Grigsby's highly regarded immigration practice advocate methods to comply with a law requiring employers prove that they have tried to find qualified American workers before applying for a green card for a foreign worker. The lawyers urge the audience, in so many words, to do exactly the opposite.

"Our goal is clearly not to find a qualified and interested U.S. worker," said partner Lawrence Lebowitz on the video. "And, you know, that in a sense that sounds funny, but it's what we're trying to do here."

No, they're just doing the jobs Americans won't do right?
