Any classic or antique car owners here?

So since we are here I know that we are all JEEP admirers or owners, but I was curious to know how many of us have classic or antique cars and/OR jeeps that are antique?

I myself have a 1965 mercury comet caliente (4) door with the 289 2bbl engine and C4 transmission. As of right now it is all original and requires a lot of work to restore it to original condition.

in the mid 90's my grandfather had just retired and was looking for a project car that he could get started with the work on and have compelted to give to me after I had graduated from college. When he received a call from a tow truck driving friend of his who had this comet on it's way to the junkyard because it had a minor incident with a deer he jumped at the chance and bought it. Before the work was completed my grandfather passed away in 2004 and the process of restoring the car to original condition became my responsibility and in the fall of 2005 the Comet was driving to it's current storage facility in Massillon ohio close to my parents house.

After I graduated from college in the fall of 2006 I have done mostly mechanical work to the car to bring it back up to reliable driving standards. projects have included rebuilding the carb, replacing all brake parts and rebuilding the power booster, installing new tires, new belts, new plugs, wires, distributor, points, etc. I've also spent a lot of time on ebay and craigslist picking up all the chrome trim pieces needed to bring the comet back to its original glory.

Currently I still need to have some body work done to correct a few rust spots (mostly rear quarter panels), a new paint job (original polar white if possible) then I can start working on the interior.

As I am very impatient with welding and painting I plan to leave that work to someone else someday in the future when I have enough money saved up. In the meantime its a nice sunday driver with all of the windows down, no FM, no A/C and no regrets....!

Should I have kept my pt cruiser which was almost paid off and use the money I could save to finish the comet? Probably. Do I regret trading my pt cruiser in for 6 years of payments on my jeep? Not at all!

So it doesn't matter to me, if you're driving a jeep or an old car I will wave at you, heck if you are driving a saturn (like my boss) I will wave at you but you have to wave first if you're driving anything other than a jeep or old car!

Sold my fram up resto 1967 firebird a few years ago.

Currently have a 48 Pontiac Chieftain Silver Streak sitting back home in the shop. Haven't done much with it yet, The ol' straight flathead 8cyl still runs like a champ.

1960 CJ is the only classic I own now. Well, the State of Colorado says my 1980 CJ is classic, but to me it's just old.

I have a '91 YJ renegade... i guess that makes it a classic next year! I also just bought (like yesterday) 2 '55 CJ willys jeeps for $2,000. We are gunna make one out of the two, and fully restore it. then as money and time comes along we are going to restore the second one, someday! : ) So, i guess I have a couple antique/classic jeeps at this time! (and i'm only 16) haha : )

I have been shopping around for a car. I have been looking at getting either a chopped model A, or a shoebox ford. For around 10 grand i could get a ratty chpped A, or a really nice late 40's early 50's ford. Im just looking to find the right deal. I really like straight axle gassers as well. So many choices so little money

Want to get one again. But I did used to own one. My first car was a '69 Mustang with a 351W. Got 2 speeding tickets within thefirst week of getting my license with that car.

Trying to talk my wife in letting me get another one - this time I want a convertible.

At another time I did have a '53 CJ-3B - never did take the time to get that running. Also had a '79 IH Scout. That thing was a beast - but took a lot of work to keep it running. Ended up selling that to get my current Jeep.

Wish mine was a Mach1 (or at least any fastback body style) - I had a coupe. I know I am in the minority here - but I think 69 is the best year for Mustangs. Best looking design they had.

The only antique/classic car I have is my 74' CJ5 but unfortunately it might be forsale soon.
When I'm out of college I want to pick up a ford model A or T roadster or coupe to build something like this:

I bought this baby last summer. No, that's not me in the photo. It's the guy that sold it to me.
1984 LeSabre. It's not able to go far at the moment as it needs some hoses, thermostat and the tires are real bad.

We used to own this:

We sold it because I couldn't quite get that stick-shifting down. It went to a good home - another Jeepgirl who sold her's years ago and wanted another one.
