I am not a firefighter yet I plan on taking my fire I and II as soon as I can. I'm 18 and I just graduated high school but I already have my emt. And I work at a big volunteer fire dept. It is a really nice place. I love working there and being an emt I feel like everyday I work I can make a difference in somebody's life and it feels good. We may still have to deal with the annoying drunk calls or whatever but I still feel like I make a difference.
