Any landscapers here...or anyone that just paid to have a patio built?

I'm looking to put in a patio. It will be about 210 sq ft. I had one company quote me $4500 which seems really high to me. I was thinking it wouldn't be any more than $2500. Anyone know if this seems high or not?

Depends on the material (concrete, creek rock, pavers). The finish (brushed, stained). There should be a pretty straightforward formula to determine the number of cubic yards you'd need. That won't change from contractor to contractor, so the variance will be labor...

This quote was for square pavers. I'm trying to get a company that does stamped concrete to come give me an estimate. That is supposed to be cheaper than pavers. I do want to get a second estimate from another paver company. I prefer pavers over concrete but if the average is $4000 then I'll probably go concrete or even try to do it myself.

I'm a concrete contractor in Missouri , there are many variables, material, color, not to mention access , all that being said 2500. 00 would be my rock bottom price here. 4500.00 seems like a fair price, especially on the east coast.

Oh and a simple formula to use is
210 sq ft
divided by 81 ( the coverage of a cubic yard of concrete 4" thick)
Equals 2.59
So 2 1/2 to 3 yards of concrete

The $4500 quote was for patio paver stones not concrete. I just got a quote today for stamped concrete and he said $2500. I'm going to get a few more quotes but it seems like stamped concrete is the way I'm going.
