Rifle season opens here in Va tomorrow. Can't wait! Likely part of the reason I'm not sleeping now. Too excited!

My hunting partner got the new Boone and Crockett record Black Tail last Sat.

The taxidermist was jumping up and down when he scored it. I want to say 137 ??? Dont remember exactly but sounds right

In Washington we have the 3 species of deer, White tail, Black tail and mulies. The blacks are on the rainy side. The east side has the other 2. We get blacks and mulies that will jump sides and breed together but then they are just called mule deer. So the mt range pretty much decides what they are. Our black tails are pretty small. 150 pounds prob.

His was over 2 and def not a cross. Unless they started swimming accross Puget Sound

You eastern boys are so lucky with those big white tails. We are starting to get better ones here but the numbers of big boys is still low compared to the basket and east.

My last trip. The badger was a monster.

Brother got the big one last day of rifle season here in pa. This is a nice buck but by PA standards you almost never see then like this. We typically have 8s with a rare 10.

PA standards?... Shoot, thats a nice one by any standards.

I only have squirrel, rabbit and pheasent in my freezer. I can't sit still long enough for deer.

Haha I just meant compared to your typical central pa deer that's basically unheard of. You see guys go to Ohio, WV, and other states for big bucks. No one ever goes to pa! Lol

Nothing wrong with small game, thts more my flavor as well.
