Any photographers with Jeeps?

Just wondering if there are any photographers on the forum who drive jeeps. I have a second career as a photographer and am wondering what everyone does for gear torage. I rarely go out witout my DSLR and have noticed, not much place to stow gear. If the top is off you have to either not take any gear or lug it all with you if you get out. So what is everyone doing? any new idea for gear storage? gary

I am an amateur photographer, and wondered the same thing. I've read about a safe you can put in the back but can't recall the manufacturer. There is a camera bag I looked into when I went to Italy that is steel mesh and has a cable and lock on it - that might work.

there are actually a few on the forum; try out this thread:

I know kbwwolf is one, but think he's on an extended vacation right now.

thanks hbgirl

shearpamela, i think for now I want to find some sort of bag that goes around the passanger seat and the camera can sit in like a holster so if your driving along and see a picture you can grab the camera and go, yet keep it safe from rolling around while your driving.

Buy a camera that will fit in your console. My Oly OM-D fits in there just fine. Of course, my big gear normally only goes out when I'm shooting for a client or doing something specific so the top will remain on at that point. I'm not leaving $10,000 in gear sitting in a jeep where anyone could steal it.

Oh, and get it insured. It's fairly cheap.
