I might be moving from Michigan to Montana for my husband's work. Just wanted to see if anyone on here could say anything good about it to make me feel better :-/

Where in Montana? And what concerns do you have?

There isn't anything you can really say that describes the State as a whole entity, it's a diverse place, and it really depends on where you're moving to.

RHD... it's a jeep thing

I spent a short deployment in Missoula. If you like small town living, beautiful country, cold winters and pretty nice people than you will LOVE Missoula.
I rented a BEAUTIFUL house four blocks from the university on Eddy St. It had 4 bedrooms, three baths an interesting basement, 2 car garage and front/back yards and I was paying $1200 a month.
Im sure things (rental values) have changed since I was there. But even when I was there, that was low compared to So Cal rental costs.
I spent some time in other parts of Montana, and didnt like any of it...

Well I guess the only thing I know now is that it could be Nye or Billings....My husband wants to go for work. Things are scary here in Michigan (union wise, which he is) and work is not going as well as he would like, not getting the hours he wants. It's not bad yet but we are at a crossroads of, do we wait and see what happens or get out while the getting is good. We have a house, which I do not want to sell (because it would make it feel too permanent) and have accumulated the normal things for where we live I guess. We each have a daily driver, he has a tractor, I have my baby (jeep), and all the other things that come with having a family. I love living in the country, I assume there's a lot of that in Montana lol. I am at a loss, my family says they will be mad and I wouldn't like being away from them. I have to do what's best for my family and I would follow my husband wherever he thinks that is. Anyone ever picked up everything and moved away? Started over?
