Anyone from the Dallas Area?

I'm looking at law schools and have been pretty set on Southern Methodist University in Dallas. It's the only law school and they have a fantastic dual masters/law program.

Only thing is, I've never been to Dallas and going here would mean that my life will be centered around the area. I'm from southern Jersey, born and raised in farming, but I like the people and the culture up here a lot so I don't know how the transition would be.

I'm wondering what's everyone's opinion on the move? I mean, I'd be living in the Dallas area, but I'd much rather live out in a rural part nearby. How are the people, the towns population, and will they be okay with me not abandoning the Phillies, Flyers, and Eagles?

The one thing I am looking forward too is basically no rules on lifting 40s here I come!

You will love Dallas. We moved from San Diego 10 years ago and never looked back! I work down the street from SMU. Beautiful campus and plenty to do in the area!!

Cowboys. - will never see another super bowl
Mavericks - have a crazy owner and the best show in town
Rangers - going broke and winning games

Stars - God's team

Found an awesome Jeep Park in Bridgeport Texas.... About 1 1/2 hours out of Dallas. It is sponsored by the great city of Bridgeport. Now those are some politicians I can get behind!!!
