I drive for FedEx but I wouldn't know anything about trouble tickets.
I drive for the new FedEx national freight devision.

I'm not having shipping troubles. I received a damaged product and was curious if the shipper claimed insurance or not.

Long story??

I bought some stuff from an online retailer. I updated my address since the last time I ordered product from company X I had moved.

Company X messed up and sent my package to the wrong address. I waited and waited patiently. Then patience grew thin so I called company X for a tracking number. Sure enough! Delivered!

I called Fedex to get a print out of the signature verification and wouldn't you know?? There is my signature. Only NOT my signature. I call my old land lord and find out nobody lives there!! Hmm... now how did I sign for a package where I don't reside and how did someone sign for my package if nobody lives there??

FEDEX!!!!

So the driver had to have signed my name and left this 100 lb box at my old door where I didn't live. I drove the 35 mile one way trip to see if I could find my stuff. Sure enough, after sitting outside for 11 days, of which in the rain 2, there is my 1500 dollar order.

I load it into my truck by the grace of GOD. Call company X and tell them I have my stuff and ask what should I do about the trouble ticket I started with fedex. He replies that he will take care of all of it, that he started a claim to have fedex pick it up and will call to make it OK.

So.. I don't think much about it until my old land lady calls and says I have a slip on my old door asking that I immediately call fedex at this 1800 number. My feeling is that fedex went to pickup my package, found out it wasn't there, and credited company X for the entire shipment.

I'd just like some form of conformation

thoughts

well i work for UPS, but alot of the "problems" are the same but in your position. to start company X will only be refunded if 1 package is damged at fault of fed ex 2 package is lost at fault of fed ex, any thing else the package is just sent back to the shipper at shippers cost. If i were you i would go down to the local sort of fed-UPS i mean fedex, and see if you can talk to a local sort mananger or supervisor. Ask them if they had a package delivered to X address (yes they know even up to about a month back), if so who the driver was for that day. they will then ask the driver if it was delivered to that address, and what happed to it afterwards. if nothing turns up ask them about the package if they have it or not (obvesily they will not) then if you have proof that you do not live at the address at the time of delivery and it shows that you signed then possaiabley they will ask you to verify your signature by showing it, and compare to the one that they have. then if the package is truly missing(in there system even if you have and they dont know it), they are forced by the insurance to refund the money to the shipper, for the shipping and the appox worth of the item(s) inside. then you contact company x if they are not shady they should refund your money because they got the money back. so thanks to fedex lazyness you get you items for free!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! cant beat that now can you!!!
