I have a bushmaster AR, with Rock river trigger, collapsable stock. (it came stock with fixed stock, no lug on front, and no flash suppressor - built during ban apparently)

if I were to do it over, I'd have just bought a rock river...but I got the bushmaster cheap...(edit: actually that's a lie, if I had a do over I'd get a PS90...I love those silly guns).

Its a decent weapon(very accurate with the right ammo) but it is the one I'd sell first. If Obama would just reinstate the assault weapon BS I could sell it and make a few bucks.

No one cares about posting pics of their weapons through a photo-sharing site?

OPSEC works in all facets of life.......

My point exactly. Posting pics of your personal weapons on to a photo-sharing site is what the military would consider an OPSEC violation. Why let the general public (and others......) know what's in your armory? I'm not bashing anyone or saying what you all are doing is wrong, I'm just saying it's something you should all think about. Even my friends don't know what all I have in my safes, let alone the general public. I look at things a little differently than most of you, so maybe I'm being a fuddy-duddy. Don't take this the wrong way, I'm not hammering anyone.....I'm just bringing it up to protect you.

If you need proof, go to Photobucket (or any photo-sharing site), and type in AR15......see what comes up. You can get into people's albums, look at their weapons, and with any computer skill at all, find out who they are. A little checking around will invariably lead to an address. Just something to think about.

It's OPerational SECurity. Not an agency. Just a way of doing things in the military. What it means, basically, is keeping critical information to yourself. A big enough OPSEC violation in the military can lead to jail. Never give your enemy (or anyone else for that matter) anything, including information. Information is power.

OPSEC, COMSEC, COMPUSEC ... All things to think about.

I just wonder how many of these people (not as in here, but the internet as a whole) are using Facebook places or a like service.

It's been so long since I've seen that movie, I'm guessing it was probably a variation of the M-60. That seems to be his weapon of choice for maximum destruction. But again, that's a guess since it's been so long since I've seen that movie. I'm all about war movies, but the Rambo movies are pretty low on my list of watchable flicks.....

OpSec is the way to go.
All for it.
Especially since I come from a military family and so on and so forth.

They're like a B rated horror flick, but on the war film genre they're like a C, C-.

Operational Security not only keeps your ass hidden(info wise) and safe but it keeps others safe as well.

It requires you to be Semper Fidelis and Semper Fortis.
For those who barely know Latin, it means forever faithful/hopeful and forever strong.

Thank you for your service. I come from a marine family but I could never serve because of multiple knee surgeries due to college football . But anyway the M1A is not my weapon I ripped that picture off google. I am very aware of OPSEC. I do have one though...or do I?????

Yup, I've had experience with all 3 weapons. I think that's what makes it funny.

Yes I am ressurecting a really old thread that I started. Why? Because over 2 years ago I made this thread looking for info about the AR15 rifle. Well after a long while I finally "pulled the trigger"...and started accumalating parts to build my very own.
I did some bartering with a buddy and got this from him....

Then everything went to hell and I started ordering parts....the 18" DPMS Mark12 barrel, stripped DPMS upper and YHM brake came today...

Annnnd.....this free float YHM handguard is on the way...

When its all said and done, I would like to have a set of flip up sights, and a low-mid power scope with quick detach base.

That is all, Carry on...
