Army

Well, I shelved my earlier plan to move back to Texas and after a few weeks of thinking it over I started the process of going back on active duty. I can't stand being in the National Guard. There are some great soldiers in the guard, just not enough. I can probably count on being deployed more often, which is fine, but if all goes well, I'll be able to retire in just 6 years. I'm 41 now. So, wish me luck. I have to convince my commander to sign my release next week when we head out for our two weeks annual training.

Best of luck! Keep us posted on how things are going.
And, if you are deployed, keep in touch. You're part of the family, ya know.

Sounds like a good decision. I kick myself a number of times each year when I pass my enlistment anniversary. It will be 33 years in September since that day.

I'm sure I don't have to tell you to keep your head down and your eyes/ears open.

Best of luck in all you do and may your future be prosperous and filled with cheer.

Remember what the Drill Sergeant use to call National Guard recruits----No Go's.......if I had to go back in I would go back active duty.

Good Luck!!!
