At&t

Okay so I have had no Internet for 3 days. Background: AT&T has come to my house multiple times in the past couple of months because I have been getting bumped off the internet about 10 times a day. They told me to get U-VERSE and my problem would be fixed. Well they assumed that I wanted it so they set an appointment. I shot them down and kindly said "screw you" because I didn't want to pay more. Question I have is can they be tampering with my Internet? Call me paranoid, but ever since I turned them down for u-verse, my Internet connection has been laggy and I've been bumped off twice as much. And now I have no Internet! If it is possible for them to fix certain Internet problems through their computers (that's what the technician said), is it possible for them to screw with my Internet? I called today and they just tell me the same thing: "buy u-verse and you'll be fine". Well what the heck has happened?! I've had the same internet for 15+ years with no issues!! I'm so extremely frustrated right now with AT&T...

Are you sure it is the internet connection with ATT? I was having similar issues with my internet connection on TWC and found out that my model was going bad. I had a buddy of mine who is in computer programming/network admin come out and look at it and he told me to go get a new wireless modem. I picked one up and haven't had any issues since. I went with the Netgear dual band 600 series something or other. It was less that $100 andf fixed the issue.

At first we did think it was the modem, so AT&T sent us a new one. Same problems occurred.

Is AT&T your only option for service? If not, change providers or at least threaten them with switching. You would be surprised at how fast they can remedy a situation if they think that they are going to lose your business.

My mom had the same issues and I added WiFi to her modem and the problem went away. Now I don't want you all to think I diagnosed this as the solution, I just brought the old WiFi with me because I hated using her internet connection in her bedroom, and the problem went away.

If you have FIOS in your area, get it. I've had it for almost 2 years now with no issues.
