Autozone Crank Position Sensor

Are AutoZone CPS's bad replacements? I had an issue with my Jeep intermittently cutting off on idle and trying to cut off while driving, I replaced the CPS and the problem when away for a few weeks only come back and hunt me again, I started looking at other possibilities but everything pointed to the CPS, I returned the sensor to AutoZone and replaced it again, it ran well for a few weeks but now it started doing the same thing. Anybody else experienced this issue? Will I need to replace with OEM part? Or maybe something in my jeep is killing the sensors? Please help. Thank you,

OOps, I think this belongs in a different forum, can anybody move it for me? Thanks in advance.

I have replaced the AutoZone CPS with OEM and problems persist. I'm out of ideas, I'm thinking maybe the PCM is bad? I had my rig diagnosed at a shop, the mechanic told me he could never get it to fail but once, when it did he didn't any communication between his computer and my Jeep but that wasn't enouth to blame the PCM. Any ideas?

Had an issue with our 2003 silverado doing the same thing you're explaining. It would shut off randomly. Sometimes it would start right back up, some times it would take a bit. I replaced it with a FAPS unit, and the problem was fixed, but now threw check engine, and "engine miss" codes. Went to Chevrolet and got an OEM unit, all problems fixed. I'd try a Jeep product if I were you.

Yeah, I replaced the Autozone CPS with a Mopar CPS with no changes.
