Back from my fishing trip

Its good to be back, but I'm already missing it, and placing orders through Cabela's and Rollie and Helen's Muskie Shop in prep for next year.

Fishing was sub-par compared to last year. I caught 10 Lake Trout, 1 Smallmouth Bass, and 1 Pike. The pike I caught was the biggest of the week (6lbs.), and won me the first pool and the overall pool totaling $84, my dad won the second pool with a 5lb pike.

All of the fish caught in our group of 10 gents and 4 ladies were released, because that how we think it should be done in this lake.

The problem with the fishing is that the pike spawn after the ice melts, and it melted 2 weeks late this year. After the pike spawn, they lose their teeth and go dormant for 2 weeks. Then the fishing picks up, but everything was delayed.

I still had a blast, and will be back next year for 2 weeks, rather than 1.

Here's some pictures.

My 6lb pike. Took me 30 minutes to revive it to be released. Photography courtesy of my girl, Ashley.

A small lake trout, about 4lbs.

Another trout

My dad and brother fishing is their "Hot Spot". My brother landed a 10lb pike there about 8 years ago.....nothing since.

Sunset over "Big Water"

A loon. They aren't scared of the boats anymore. I was about 10 feet from this bird.

A Peregrine Falcon nest. There are about 4 or 5 more on the lake.

AND FINALLY! THE GAS PRICE IN CANADA! this equates to $4.90 per gallon

man you gotta watch out for those loons, In maine where we fish they'll take your fish, they're smart.

They'll circle around the boat and when you catch something they'll dive and catch it on its way into the boat when it can't swim away, they'll just take the back end of the fish off so they dont get the hook inside them. And if they cant get it as you bring it in im sure they get it while tis tired when we release it

they are getting a little too smart!

I'm gettin a 50hp Yamaha 4stroke for it too, but he one I'm looking at has a 40hp 2stroke Evinrude. The boat is exactly like my dads lol. Same seats even!

I'll post some pics when I get it.
