I ain't gots to like the nasty bastids
I'm originally from Michigan, our western bats aren't that different from your mid-west bats. I've never heard of one exploding, before this. Maybe the exploding bat ate something it shouldn't have?

We have two sizes of bats in the yard. Little brown fuzzies and the bigger... black I think, bats that eat those nasty icky crap brown june bugs that don't swim well.

When I was in nthe Army I spent a night under a tree in Panama that was filled with the little blood suckers. They tried to get us all night. I HATE THEM! The only good bat is a dead bat.
