BCS Declares Germany Winner of World War II

US Ranked 4th

After determining the Big-12 championship game participants, the BCS computers were put to work on other major contests and today the BCS declared Germany to be the winner of World War II.

"Germany put together an incredible number of victories beginning with the annexation of Austria and the Sudetenland and continuing on into conference play with defeats of Poland, France, Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Belgium and the Netherlands. Their only losses came against the US and Russia; however considering their entire body of work--including an incredibly tough Strength of Schedule--our computers deemed them worthy of the #1 ranking."

Questioned about the #4 ranking of the United States the BCS commissioner stated "The US only had two major victories--Japan and Germany. The computer models, unlike humans, aren't influenced by head-to-head contests--they consider each contest to be only a single, equally-weighted event."

German Chancellor Adolf Hitler said "Yes, we lost to the US; but we defeated #2 ranked France in only 6 weeks." Herr Hitler has been criticized for seeking dramatic victories to earn 'style points' to enhance Germany's rankings. Hitler protested "Our contest with Poland was in doubt until the final day and the conditions in Norway were incredibly challenging and demanded the application of additional forces."

The French ranking has also come under scrutiny. The BCS commented " France had a single loss against Germany and following a preseason #1 ranking they only fell to #2."

Japan was ranked #3 with victories including Manchuria, Borneo and the Philippines.

Imagine this....

A congressman from Texas is introducing a bill to do away with the BCS. It would be monitored by the commerce department and would not allow the conducting of a "National Championship" game, unless it is the result of a playoff.

the way i heard it, it would not allow the advertisement of a national championship, therefore hitting people right in the wallet, bc they make TONS of money selling advertising rights to these games. they're saying, it shouldn't be allowed to advertise a "national championship" when its not fully agreed that the two teams are the two best teams, and a play off system would make it where the two teams in it are concensus.....

problem is, no matter how many teams you have in a playoff, that 1st team left is is gonna say, why me? just the the NCAA basketball tournament. the 65th team is gonna want to know why they werent #64. and the other issue is some conferences (all but SEC) will want only a certain number of teams from a conference to be allowed in and they'll want automatic conference tie ins. which tie ins are unfair for non "tied-in" schools, and its not fair to a team to not allow them in bc they're the 3rd best in their conference (assuming only 2 teams per conference) when they're better than the champion of another conference (IE, SEC vs Big 10)

sorry i got off track a little

Of course, Germany fielded a better team with their superior armor and fabulous fashion sense. If they hadn't over extended themselves with Russia early on they would have easily dominated all Europe.
