Been Missing A Few Days

Thursday, about 12:30 I was trimming some trees in my back yard. As usual, bypassing safety precautions because I was about done, and in a hurry to finish, I took a header out of a River Birch, about 15 feet up.
I just got home from the hospital. Broke my right wrist, C5 vertebra in my neck, and sustained a gash in my head that took a hundred stitches to close. Other than that, it was a good week-end. How about yours?

Man, that sounds like a bummer, we were just getting ready to send out the Coast Guard looking for you! That might have been a loooong search! Well, at least you'll have a cool scar to show the grandkids! Start working on a story to tel them now, so you have it down! A friend's Dad had his appendix out as a kid, but the scar was HUGE! He told everyone that a Jap got him w/ a machette in the war! Never mind we all knew he was too young to have been in WWII, it sounded cooler than the boring truth.

Plus, oyu know what they say, "Chicks dig body damage!"

Oh my gosh, Dare!
I'm glad you're gonna be ok. I hope you heal up quickly and completely.

You learned your lesson, right? Be more careful! And, don't worry us like that!
And if I think of any more motherly type admonishments, I'll let you know.

Get better quick, Dare!

Man.....that sucks! Gotta be careful! Safety precautions are there for a reason.

Hope they at least gave you some good pain meds!

You got a dent in there too? That looks so painful. I'm really glad you're still with us.

The big ridge in there after being stitched up was a drain tube. They took it out before I left the hospital,

and NO, I AM NOT selling my jeep. I might not be driving it too much until my neck and arm heal.

Holy Crap! That looks like something out of CSI! Were you knocked out when it happened? Was there someone around?

Man, all I can say is you got REAL lucky not to bleed to death from something like that!

Sounds like you are gonna owe someone a few brewskis for saving your keester!

I tried to land on my feet. Between cutting off the chainsaw and tossing it away and trying to jump off of the ladder after it lost stability and dodging the limbs that were already down, there was just too much going on to pull out anything graceful. I think I must have landed on a limb that was already down to have lascerated my knoggin that badly.
