Well that stinks... though being in Germany might be nice. Cain and I spent some time looking at travel guides of Europe today...

I think I would tend to sell the family wagon here, take the jeep over and buy her one of those darn nice high 50mpg diesels over there. Remember, a Mercedes or BMW over there is about the equal of a mid chevy or ford over here and about as common. I know alot of guys who bought 'exotics' [to us] over there a couple of months before coming back, like a saab turbo, then sold it for 2-3 times what they paid for it once uncle sam got it back over here. I think jeeps are worth alot more over there too, the wranglers are considered 'exotics' to most europeans let alone lifted and modified ones, ever note the prices on lift kits over there ? Bolt on a whole bunch of heavy high shipping cost bling bling stuff while it's here and sell it over there. Heck, I'd stick a couple of lift kits in with your household goods, maybe even take some pre-orders from some of the europeans that post here.

Well the Jeep is my toy and I haven't heard much about trails over there. But I'm still trying to convince the wife to let me use some of the re-enlistment money to send it over with us.

I know this is an older thread but I figured I would update it for anyone who cares. the family and I made it over here on a 9 hr flight and now we're in mannheim and I start work tom. I shipped the Jeep but bad news is on the way up to Dallas it sprung a leak somewhere in the transfer. The shippers still took it but now that I'm here, I'm worried that it might have been something major. Anyways I'll find out what it is when I recieve the Jeep from the shippers.

from what the guy said at the shipping place is that they would take it on a flatbed truck to the port and then drive it onto the boat.
