Holy S.
Im not sure a shotty is the proper weapon to be aiming at a would-be kidnapper with your child in tow, but Ill definitely give her an A for effort.
Use what you got, I guess.

This brings up another question. Lets say this guy gets your kid into the car and is on the way tearing down the street. Lets also say you are an Army sniper and have a 50 cal sniper rifle and the skills to use it to pick off said dirtbag in their car getting away with your child.
Now this doesnt necessarily fall under the Castle doctrine because it, technically, isnt occurring on your property and you PERSONALLY are not at risk because the assailant is fleeing (with your child in tow)
What would happen to YOU? You save your child from abduction. Headless man in car 40 yards from your house. You standing there with a giant rifle in hand on your front deck.
Not what would you do, 99.9% of you would probably do the same. What would the man in the black robe and the men in the loud, flashy cars do to you?

Mhhhh...Depends on where you reside. In AZ, no questions asked when it comes to child violence, this happened in CA, so I wonder the same thing.

Nothing personal to those who live there but if you have to ask this question you are living in one of the wrong states i.e. Illinois, California, New Jersey, New York, Mass, etc.

Here in the land of liberty and freedom (Texas) you could expect a slap on the back and a good cigar. I don't think you would find a grand jury that would ever charge the parent for shooting their childs kidnapper. I can't even imagine how you would ever consider having to ask this question. Get out while you can.

Castle doctrine does not apply. Use of deadly force to stop a crime does. Kidnapping allows the use of deadly force. It doesn't even have to be your kid.
