last tuesday i was rolling with a guy who was 240lbs and im around 160 and went for an armbar from his back and he sat out and i got driven into the mat and separated the ac joint and tore the ligaments in my sholder.

in the two years ive been doing jiu jitsu ive broken my hand separated my sholder, pulled ligaments in my ankle ankle, and numerus cases of facial injuries and damage to the cartilage in both my ears

Oooo Ooooo ME!!! Let's see......

Broke my thumb, my ribs, cracked my orbital bone, broke my neck, my foot, cracked off a couple teeth, broke my nose, dislocated my shoulder...... oh and the cou de grau, seven concussions that left enough bits of dead brain that I'm not allowed to fight anymore.

The cuts and bruises don't count and I couldn't list them all..... although the foot print across my cheek was pretty cool as was the shiner that detatched my retina.

Krav Maga is big fun.

The arts? All I know is that if you fall head-first out of a tree, you get fractured radius (big honkin cast for at least 6 weeks), fractured C5 vertebrae in the neck (stupid, uncomfortable collar for 6 weeks) T1 rib fracture (hurts like h3LL when you move or breathe), 100 stitches in the scalp, (that bleeds like a fountain) and at least 4 weeks off of work (sounds good, but is incredibly boring when you can't do anything.) I am only two weeks into the process, and it SUCKS!!!

Actually, I wasn't hurt because I was training in Krav. Four years of being an instructor and I never lost one student to injury. I got hurt because I was first off an instructor and the training is brutal to get certified, and secondly..... I weigh 120 pounds and stand 5'1" and refuse to admit it. I sparred with guys twice my size and the one thing that they always said was no matter what, no matter how many times I hit the ground, no matter if blood and snot was running down my face, they knew I was going to come back after them. I let BigMike dislocate my shoulder because I REFUSED to tap out. I can't lose. When that bell rings, my need to win outweights any hulk standing across from me. My injuries were all ego.

I'd like to say it was a sniper thing. Truth is it was a chainsaw thing.

Well, by all accounts, I was extremely lucky. A man about my age took a simular fall about two weeks before mine, and did not survive. So, the fact that I'm here says a lot. I went to the doc today and he is concerned about me developing pneumonia. He started me on an antibiotic and also prescribed Ambien, since I have not been sleeping very well. My head wound looks amazingly well. The surgeon that closed it did a fabulous job.
I haven't driven the heep, or any vehicle for two weeks. Oh well, I'm saving money on gas!!! But I am extremely bored.

When you stand a foot shorter than all the guys you spar and roll with, ego and pure refusal to give up is the only thing sometimes that gets you to the bell.

I was a huge UFC fan, but since I can't participate anymore, watching it tends to make me tense.

Trained in BJJ and Krav, seperated my shoulder as well and doc told me that if i wanted to be able to use my left arm for the rest of my life, I would have to quit training in MMA. As far as getting hurt, here is my list.

Broken nose twice
Hairline fracture of the jaw
broken thumb and pinky finger
broken little toe
too many pulled tendons to count.

So that is my story, and by the way I really do like the UFC. I actually trained with 2 amature fighters that were / are both 5-0.
