between sat and sunday saw 2 doe's and a mangy cat. You can't shoot doe's during rifle season in VT only during bow and muzzleloader. O well still got a couple weeks left!

Good luck buddy. Late buck season runs Thursday thru Sunday here in Washington. Taking my daughter up for her first deer on Thursday (we hope). Then...I get to go for a special permit elk hunt next week, for a week, up on Mt. St. Helens. Can't wait.

Here's my 8 pt 168 lb Chittenden County buck from opening day. He came full bore chasing the 9th doe I saw. I regret not getting a good picture of it loaded on the Jeep's hitch-hauler...

Hunting tip of the day - A "bleat-in-heat" can call is the greatest deer hunting tool you can give yourself. I had does come back up to 4 times to check me out. My last 5 deer have come courtesy of that call.

This deer was absolutely loaded with ticks.

Well since you already filled your tag want to let me in on the secret place in chittenden county? Atleast around the area? I was hunting Franklin co. sat and Sunday but I'm taking Thursday through sunday off to do a 4 day trip. Common now share! Great Deer by the way! I was thinkin about going to Fred Johnson management area in Hidesburg or starksboro but not sure yet. Guy at work has a bleat in heat call I'll see if I can get a hold of it, thanks for the tip!

Son still has to fill his tag, then I'll think about telling you. Suppose you want my secret fishing hole too? You'll be pretty close to my area if you go to Hinesburg/Starksboro (I'll give you that much). The can call was the ticket opening day.

I'll be visiting a camp in Jonesville on Saturday, wave if you see me...

This gal came in looking for what was making that sound. She "eyeballed" me for 30 minutes.
