^^^^It looks like it's just telling us how many meters per second the bullet is traveling, not MPH, Geoff.

I am curious to know why you are intersted in MPH? Is it just to give you an idea of how fast they travel?

Velocity in FPS and ft/lbs of impact are the best ways to measure a bullets effectiveness.

Ya, but you can get mph as well if you ask. I was trying to show him how to fish, not give him a fish...

Fair enough.

Bullets fly half as fast as Superman.

In video games, the bad guy's bullets travel much slower than the good guy's bullets.

And Pecos: I think you've had enough.

A little bit of a spin-off to your question.

I shoot a compound bow that propels the arrow at 315 fps (60 lb. draw).....about the length of a football field in one second. That's 214.8 mph.....not comparable to a bullet but not too shabby.

Remember that is only at the muzzle, it will continually slow down from there, how much it slows is determined by its ballistic coefficient which if we new which bullet it was or at least its B.C. we could calculate its terminal speed as well.

really it is 2181.818181818182 mph at the muzzle to be exact.

He just wanted to know how fast it was traveling, but didn't say when during its flight path to measure it, so I measured it at the muzzle. Just working with the variables that were presented. And my calculator on my phone won't go any further than what I originally posted.

I have an htc xv6900 with verizon and run exbal on it with no problems. Worked well in WY for mule deer and antelope along with my kestral 4000 and Leica 1200
My son has the newer version phone and likes it better than the 6900.

Yeah, my LG EnV Touch is a little lacking. Don't know what I'm going to get next. A buddy has the Motorola Droid and it's crazy. The Droid Incredible is even more crazy. Don't know if I need anything that nuts, but we'll see what's available next month when I do upgrade.

You ought to have that all figured out ahead of time, I've got turrets on all of my XP's and have sight settings out to 1000 yds so that we only have to range them and adjust for yardage and fire "bada bing bada bang" ya no what I mean.

Turrets and LRFs are just magical, aren't they Donn? They sure take a lot of the guesswork out of it.

ABSOLUTLY! We just range, adjust the turret for the yardage according to my notes taped to the bottom of my stock and fire. Very quick and I guarantee very deadly if you ask any of the deer and antelope that I have killed that have ranged out to just over 900 yds. And like you say, with out a laser range finder, You're just guessing.

And I thought the Barr & Stroud was magical and would have given anything to have one of those, I am glad I waited.

You guys should really try working in a gunshop and try explaining MOA, bullet drop comp and ballistic co to Joe public. I guarantee you both would be near suicidal after a week.
