Warning TMI

let's just say BK makes my bathroom experience more pleasant

Both have faded out with age. Gone are the days of a double QT pounder and a super sized fry.
Try that now and I'll be orbiting Jupiter

I grew up on Mickey D's because it was the only thing close. But once I got Burger King it beat MD for me.

Five Guys Burgers, hands down my favorite.
BK is barely tolerable, and McD's is just nasty...

True story: I stopped at our nearby Mceedees the other night to feed a JKU full of hungry, 14-year old football players. Had a roach scamper down by my foot while I was ordering.....but I ignored it. While we were eating, my son spit out his nugget and made a commotion. He said "Dad, there's a bug on my food!" I thought he was exaggerating, but he insisted I take a look. Sure enough, the little brown spot next to his bite mark had legs and was moving. It was a live roach.

Showed it to the manager and she offered me a free bag of cookies or a refund on the nuggets. I should mention that my check was close to 60 bucks, so a 3 dollar compensation for a live insect in the food was a bit underwhelming. Took the money, came home and started to fire off some emails.

That'll about do it for that particular establishment. I did hear back from the management company, supervisor and another manager....but I'm still waiting to see if they'll reimburse my $56.41. LOL

Bottom line? If I gotta eat fast food burgers.....5 Guys.

I go with whoever has the best price. There's a Steak 'n Shake on my daily drive home, a few miles from my house. It is tempting to stop there for their Happy Hour 1/2 off price shakes from 2-4 each afternoon. That, and usually a $4 value meal to go.

I used to love White Castle (a Midwest chain) but their prices have gotten stupid. For what it costs to feel full I can practically get a cheap steak dinner at Outback with free refills on my drink and all the hot buttered bread I can eat.

Not a huge fan of either. When I was younger I couldn't stomach McDonalds, it would rip right through me. So The King is a clear winner. I can eat McDonalds fine now but but still prefer Burger King.

But like some above posters, for fast food\national chain Five Guys is hard to beat. Local joints will easily beat Five Guys, but there's something amazing about that place.

I love mcdonalds fries when they are crispy and not the under cooked potato paste. I always get double cheese burger minus ketchup and mustard pile on the fries. Unfortunately I try to stay away from fast food. Burger King is okay rather have Hardee's or Wendy's even. Five guys burgers and fries blows them all out of the water. Red robin's 4 alarm burger is good too.
