Anyone know a good place to camp in the easternside of the US?
Im looking for a place like 3-4 hours away from long island NY.

I want a place thats near like a river or lake of some sort that each camp site is far away from the others and where I can pull my jeep right up to the side of the tent.

Anyone know the perfect place?...thanks

West Virginia, or Pennsylvania would be my best guess. MD has places like that, but you cant drive offroad. I am sure you could find some up around Oswego or Syracuse or something, couldnt ya? We drove up there during that huge lake effect thing last year, and saw lots of country wooded areas to play on.

Rangeley Maine, bu thtats gonna be like 6 hrs, maybe the berksheers (sp.?) in MA, they're realy nice as well, just not as good as Rangeley

and if u do make the trip to Rangeley, tell me, and u can come see the jeep, and maybe go on a loggin road or two, depending how long it takes my radiator to fix itself

Adirondacks man. Hinckley lake has an island in the middle if you have a boat or kayak or anything. theres no fees, no buildings, no outhouses, no nothing. North of here, Utica, there are like 10-15 lakes all with campsites. get up here and enjoy.
