Can you fit car seats in back of 97?

I'm debating trading my 97 xj for a 97 wrangler. Can I still fit my sons car seat back there?

My wife baby sits a little girl that is 5 years old, and her seat fits in the back just fine. In fact, the little one's parents are jeeping friends of ours, and have two seats in their 2000 tj...one stays in it and the other is for my wife's 97 tj so the girl can change her ride from her parents to us when we take a break on the trails...kids are funny...lol..

Agreed lol. They are the best tho. I just wasn't sure if I can fit my 1.5 yr old sons seat, and an infant seat both in the back seat.

I have 2 high back boosters in the back of my '97 (back seat has no headrests , so go high back) Infant carrier barely fit in back when I had my previous jeep. could not fit a rear facing infant seat with another car seat. problem was the rear facing seat. I finally went back to a wrangler now that the both face forward. They love the ride

I figured if we use a slimmer infant seat it would work then two front facers should t be a problem

it's just tight. bring the seats and try them in the wrangler. I have done this in the past with dog crates. lol,, I wish I never sold my 97 TJ just because of it being tight for a year. I finally just got another jeep and no one can pry the keys out of my hands! lol

Ya I understand man. I love my xj, but think it's time to move on from the lift and finally get into a tj

i have a 5 year old in a high back booster seat and a 2 year old in forward facing car seat. The both fit fine in my 99 TJ. The car seat is a little bit of a pain to get in when the top is on but it will go.
