I think it's great Tom that you think people care what you think! I told you once to squash your attitude.

I don't dislike the Sox, when the Cards win the series they will have been a worthy opponent. The next time we go through a rough stretch I'll become a temporary Sox fan so I can make up any stats I want in order to back up my statements....

I do the same thing with the cards! lol no seriously, if the sox had to face anyone in a World Series, I'm glad it is the Cardinals, an extremely good team, and probably my #2 team when it comes for rooting, but sox are #1 forever and always lol

they did not, neither team has proven themselves to be a superior team. Fundamental mistakes and pure bad plays and bad game calling is what resulted in a loss for each team. Now that they both have jitters out of the way, I'm excited to see the next game, maybe overly excited. (I even have my Red Sox blanket out, handmade by my wife when we were dating oh so many years ago)

Well, it's easy to see that our opinions differ, but that O.K., because that's what sports and competition is all about.

Yes it should, already is, really. Cards will take 2, maybe even 3 in St Louis provided our pitching holds up. Joe Kelly should be good for a win, Lynn (depending on which Lynn shows up) is a maybe, and Wainwright will most likely be on a mission to redeem himself next start. Then they have to try to hit Wacha again... we got this
Will Ortiz play in the 'Lou since there's no DH spot in NL ball?

i don't know, Napoli has been beast (2 grand slams in the last 6 games) but Ortiz is always a good anchor to rely on to help us win games. I am pretty sure they will play Ortiz at first, though I do think Napoli MIGHT be worth taking a chance on

Ortiz, reminds me of Barry Bonds. This big mammoth guy at the plate, that just looks mean. And when he swings the bat and just stands there for a moment and watches that ball leave the park, it is amazing, Bonds all over again, but without the steroids, we hope!

oh god I hope Ortiz stays away from the roids. He seems like he plays for the love of the game though. And he's not my favorite sox. My favorite one is Pedoria, I would have to say Pedoria or Ellsbury.

Ortiz is a badass player though, so is Napoli and Salty

I'm still mourning from what the Red Sox did to my Tigers... but realistically the Tigers had no chance with that garbage bullpen and bats that weren't working. 3 months ago I was wondering why Cabrera wasn't on the DL, then we find out he needed surgery. Fielder - what a bum in the playoffs. If his silent bat, lack of putting the ball in play and poor base running skills weren't enough - that belly flop a mile from 3rd base almost made me sh!t my pants.

As for the Cards/Red Sox, don't really care who wins. I flicked it on yesterday, but I have nothing vested in the winner. If any Jeeper's team is involved, good luck to you and have fun watching. I have to wait until next year.

So, when was this "most of the season" you speak of? I can't find it in the stats. I'll just assume you're joking with that last sentence since your designated hitter (which the NL doesn't have, your pitcher would have had to bat) contributed so much to those wins.
Idk where you got your info at bud.. whenever I checked all the baseball records I know the red sox had the best record for awhile there. The NL is trash when compared to the AL so don't go jumping for joy..

As an AL fan, I have to say this, stop being a meanie!!

Yes the AL has won 61 WS over the NLs 44, but the AL is heavily slanted by the Yankees who have won 27 of the 61 WS for the AL.

And Red Sox did not have the best records there for a while. whetstone's facts are correct (and I am a HUGE Red Sox fan)

Yes, the Tigers had a good regular season. But they were inconsistent. Went on a Winning streak, then a losing streak. The thing that helped them was their Starting Pitching which kept them in every game. I'm glad Leland is gone, bring in some new blood. It seems that Leland was embarrassed to play Peralta. Even though he's a black sheep, he got them there.

I do respect how the Red Sox played hard. Great speed on the bases, put the ball in play, solid starting pitching & bullpen... homers in clutch times. Damn, the Tigers need Kirk Gibson back in his prime I remember him scoring from 1st base right on the heels of the guy from 2nd. Big homers, over the RF roof and huge game winners in 84 & 88 WS. Last clutch guy they had.
