WOO HOO!!!

This year's matchup between the Cards and Sox should be a bit more even than the 2004 series where Boston wiped up in 4 games.

Cards young pitching staff is doing quite well. I just hope the offense can find their bats like they did in the last Dodger game and Holliday stops hitting into DP's.

Rangers are my team, but everytime they don't make it, we pick another to cheer for (almost always the AL team).

I went to Univ of North Texas and lived in NRH, Trophy Club, Denton, and Las Colinas. I know the Rangers well (saw Nolan's last ever game he pitched) and loved them when I lived there.

I was in absolute heaven for the 2011 series - I was happy either way. But I grew up in STL and they are my main team, followed closely by the Rangers and then the Angels.

I'm all for the Cardinals winning, but I doubt they'll blow them away. Cardinal pitching should do well, as many of the Sox hitters are prone to the whiff... BUT they also score a lot of runs. So mistakes can and will be costly.

If the Cardinals from the NLCS game 6 show up, it will be a heckuva series. If the Cardinal team from games 3 and 5 show up and leave their bats at home, it's gonna be real ugly for them.

Let's hope Freese, Craig (yes Craig is available for DH duties in Boston), and the others are hot with the lumber!!!

The Cardinals are just a better team.
With the temperature possibly only being in the 40s. How will this effect the outcome, or will it?

I just read an article that shows the caliber of the Cards organization. In 2004, when they were swept by the BoSox, game 4 looked to be well in hand by Boston. The powers that be at Busch Stadium opened the doors to the Sox fans who had gathered outside, who didn't have tickets, but wanted to be close to the action for that historic moment. Losing graciously is a better character trait than always coming out on top.
That being said, Cards in 4 games!!!

The Cardinals, GENERALLY speaking, have a great fan base. Their town loves them and they love them back. True class, from what I've seen as a fan and resident of St. Louis. News about how the Pujols trade went down aside, I think generally, St. Louis handles things with respect for the people AND the game.

I don't about Boston per se, but I hear they love their Sox too, but the whole Bambino curse thing... I dunno.

Just two historic teams going at it in the Fall Classic. Regardless of who wins, I hope it is a good series and not one sided either way!

I'm in LC Born & raised in SoCal though, and grew up going to Angels and Dodgers games. When I moved to DFW, I was extremely happy a pro team was in the area. I became a Rangers fan the first game I went to in 1990. We've had many "lean" years; it's just been a joy to see them do so well the past few, whether they go all the way or not.

Sorry for the slight /threadjack ... GO REDSOX!

As for the first part, Boston finally broke its record breaking sellout streak earlier this year (800+ games) So, ya we love our Sox.... btw: The Bambino curse was lifted in 2004. (the sweep of the Cards in the WS)
I agree with the two historic teams facing off, the nice part is neither team is the Yankees.
I am happy to see the two best (record wise 97 wins) teams facing each other in the WS. But this series will easily be won by Boston in 6.
FEAR THE BEARD!

Geez, that was disgustingly ugly as a Cardinal fan, and a baseball fan in general. Pros should NOT be playing like the Cardinals did last night. Even I could catch a DP ball better than Kozma, and I haven't played competitively in 30 years.

Totally lopsided and Boston played like the champions. St. Louis played like the Keystone Cops. Truly painful to watch and totally uncharacteristic of them.

I feared Boston may shut the bats down and that's what happened for the most part. Cardinals score runs by stringing hits and not so much with the long ball (though their one was a monster over the Green Wall by Holliday). And they just couldn't put it together - Boston's pitching was awesome.

I love my Cardinals and want them to win, but I recognize the excellent play by the Sox and kudos to them on that game. They just embarrassed the Cardinals.

Here's hoping Wacha continues his ways tonight and the Cardinals find some bats that work (as the ones from last night are OBVIOUSLY 'defective' LOL).

But Beltran had a damned good catch! I'll take that! Just hope he can still play.

We were too stunned to say anything! Excellent play by the Sox, combined with the Cards playing like the Bad News Bears, made for a nasty loss. Hopefully they'll get it together tonight and play like pros! Go Cards!!!

My thought last night was "How did so many Cubs players find Cardinal uniforms??"

Hopefully, a non-roided out BoSox team won't have the same results as 2004. There, I said it!
