I needed a break- been trolling some of the lesser forums lending a hand where i can.
at least in here, theres semi intell-i-gent jeep owners with questions about real problems.

todays biggest "catastrophy" in another forum- " HELP PLEASE_HURRY!!!when I step on the brakes, my jeep wont stop-what should I do? My parents bought this 2005 rubi for me a few days ago...and I dont want to tell them I broke it".

there should be an unwritten rule- if you "have" a jeep, you should know the basics- how to change a tire, where to put the gas, and where it can and cant go. (adenum to rule: no one should be "given" a rubi whos never owned a jeep- thats my new rule)

"what should I do......???" indeed.

sell it. Its obviously faulty and broken beyond the ability of the owner to fix- its totaled. I`ll take your chunk of trash off your hands-

go buy a car. stay off the trails- their too dangerous for you...theres jeep eating bears out there.

he waited an entire 12 minutes before he got desperate...

ya know, I remember a time when all I had was my own to hands and whats in my head...and was glad to have hands.
Todays "instant help" internet is killing me...no one looks for answers anymore- all they can do is ask, ask again, and keep asking....and complain when they dont get the answer they they wanted.

I try to tell them all the same thing- ITS ALL OUT THERE-- really it is- no ones hideing it from you- LOOK FOR IT-- theres enough jeep know how on the internet to fill the ocean....but the poor saps only know how to stand on the shore and say their drowning, without ever getting into the water.

Good points ed... today its seems everyone needs it, faster, better, cheaper..and then they get upset when things don't go right and they can't understand why.

It's not like that here, Ed, is it? We are lucky to have the best members in Wrangler Forum. Well, all except daddyjeep. Not sure about that guy...

No, its not.
But in time, it very well could be.

Its a global problem thats slowly creeping up- people want things fast, with no "output" from themselves. They want it "given" to them, because they truely believe they either deserve it, or dont have the time to get it themselves.

Weve become a "want it now, get it now" generation- no fuss, no wait. It carries over into what we do in everyday life-its thrown in our faces, taught to us...unfortunately, like most things-you hear it enough, you learn, you become. Tell a lie enough times, and it "becomes" truth-

I`ll use the car dealers as a side example- one of the newer slogans going around is "no haggle priceing"...thats right, go in and buy the vehicle at the price-theres no reason to haggle...just pay and drive, its easy!"
That crawls so far under my skin it hurts...and Ive seen people do it, and say "it was the best experience I ever had with a car dealer-I didnt have to haggle at all!"
To which I say "you enjoy paying full price"?
"Well, no", is the usual reply- then they get to thinking...
Theyve been manipulated by the "buy it now, drive it now" mentality of the no haggle deal....The dealers have saturated the airwaves with it, the buyer has heard it enough so that its ingrained in his noggin, and lo and behold, he even promotes it after the sale...he got it quicker- yay. I`ll not even dever into the "employee priceing events"...friggin liars...all of them.

I know thats reaching, but its an example of what we have become- were bionic- were quicker, faster, better than before-if we cant get it right now, its too late!....we cant wait for the next second, because were tripping over ourselves trying to get past it the easiest, fastest way possible.

And soon, we are going to pay for it-in more ways than we can possibly imagine....think the worlds in bad shape now? give it another 12 or so years- if we dont blow ourselves up first. The majority of "us" are like that- that "majority" will soon be running the world...wont that be fun? (I know none of "them" will read this-because they wont have the time- so repercussions should be nil)

Ive been called slow all my life- I like to watch, to ponder, and to learn-- I like to take my time, and enjoy it as it passes- instead of trying to get further ahead in it.....its not like we have an unlimited amount- I like to research problems, find the answers myself, and enjoy the hunt.....relish the find.

and I absolutely hate people who cant find a second of their life to devote to fix a problem, so they get someone else to do it for them...because they think they deserve it..or cant find the time....

its all about time.
