closing threads - moved for being off topic

why do mods close good quality threads such as the lcg thread.....it has substance and sure some of the regulars argued opinions but still you shut it down and why....thes are very educated opinions that all jeepers should hear....are you scared that they wont fit into your "jeep" ideal.....why not let them voice opinions and let them educate us newbies on how to build our rigs the right way the first time?

Why do you feel the need to argue against the forum rules being enforced.

There are rules and guidelines for every forum. Opinions and views are greatly welcome here and encouraged. Profanity and name calling is not.

This is a family forum. As long as discussion remains civilized please share all views and knowledge.

Wait wait, what about censorship? It hasn't been mentioned yet. Oh and call me a Nazi, that's always a crowd pleaser.

Actually flattie, I was here and saw the whole thing go down last night. If name calling and belittling one another has anything to do with technical knowledge or building your Jeep, then I believe that I must be going about it wrong.

Our Mods (bear in mind they are the few and proud right now) have to watch the WHOLE forum. And if they weren't doing their jobs this forum would turn into one of those other Jeep forums where they would attack you for asking questions you should already know the answer to. Do you really want that? Do you want to waltz into a thread with your 300 some posts and have some veteran jeep builder with an attitude call you something unfavorable? I mean, there are forums that can oblige your need for that, if you wish.
By all means, be my guest. But here, the rules stick and are unwavering.
And, I really don't think an already overwhelmed Mod should have to pick through every word just to make you happy.

And just a bit of advice... A softer approach to the Moderators will always be answered favorably. I know these people and if you just ask, you'll get an answer. If you come off half cocked, then prepare to face the brunt.

Also, you do know you can search the wealth of information on this board (and trust me there is an abundance of it) for info on how to build your own rig?

Why couldn't you have just said that first? The whole "Mod Bashing" thing isn't gonna get you far around here.

Flatty this forum is a little different than what you are used to. The mods here are really easy going.

I locked the thread so everyone could have a chance to cool their heels. I unlocked it this morning.

What else can I help you with?

Man, you are on a roll with the comebacks haha. Very quick clever thinking there. Tiny, remind me not to get in a argument with you, I would like to keep my dignity.

I just have one question for Tiny and CCain...

Who wheres the pants in that relationship?!?! Both of you guys seem to dominate things here on the board, seems like some day there will be a battle of epic proportions for who will be the dominant one! (Correct me if I'm out of line here.)
