Actually, I root for 3 teams each week. OSU, MU & whoever is playing wvu. I'd root for that team up north before I would wvu.

What's sad is I live in Michigan and am a buckeye fan. Also went to college there. Talk about getting ridiculed all the time lol

One of my buddies from high school...is a mich fan. Never understood it. LOL Then he went on to get his degree from mich.. Of course I had to ask him if they taught him to say "You want fries with that?" He takes the kidding very well. Of course he had a heyday with the TP/Tress mess.

My step-daughter and 4 granddaughters

also sadly live up north. What can you do?

As long as you represent OSU properly when THE GAME comes around as my step-daughter does, I forgive you....

Side notes:

My uncle played on OSU's 1968 National Championship team, and I played sports against Urban Meyer growing up. My side usually won.

The step-daughter works at a national hardware store that lets employees wear UM stuff the week of THE GAME. SHE wears OSU.

I follow a few Schools. Ducks fan but I watch the beavers also. On the east coast I lived many years near the ECU pirates in NC. I also like watching NC.

I have enough sense to not be a buckeye fan though! Lol

It's the casual "good" Mountaineer fans who often get lumped in unfairly with the belligerent idiots, but it's the deafening silence from you all that allows shit like this to happen. So in my mind, you're really no better then the beer can-throwing abusive pricks who pack into that stadium parking lot. Every time another one of these incidents occur, you only help fuel the perception that it is the vast majority of Mountaineer fans who are like this instead of a very vocal and very destructive minority.

Whether it is Marshall being mocked for arguably the biggest tragedy in the history of American team sports, LSU for the devastation of Hurricane Katrina, WVU prove week in and week out that they deserve every ounce of scorn and embarrassment heaped upon them. Unfortunately, because WVU is the state's top school, that stigma is associated with everyone in the state regardless of college affiliation.

I reiterate my previous call for a complete ceasing of sporting activities between Marshall and WVU. I'd rather the Herd travel the country getting smoked 75-0 by the top teams in America year after year tha.n ever give a dollar of support to a university with such a gutless and classless fan base.

I used to be a casual Mountaineer fan and would root for them against whoever they played (aside from Marshall), but over the past few years I've grown more and more to detest that university and everything associated with it. Today's shameful behavior is the icing on the cake. Whatever casual attachment I still had as a sporting fan to the Mountaineers is now irrevocably severed. Done. Finished. Never again." I will all ways be a herd fan we have class and respect .were still gonna have a great season .go herd
Didn't know about this. And yes that's very sad and it makes are hole state look bad. But, them boys sure play some good ball. GO Mountaineers!!!

Boise and Florida here. Gonna be a rough year I think for Boise, not something to common. Florida should be a little bit better then average. Expecting a good season but nothing BCS worthy. There offense is OK at best right now.

I appreciate the strong rivalry between Ohio State and the team up north because it has its roots in history. Ohio and Michigan fought over Toledo, both claiming rights to it. Of course Michigan lost. They gave up their claim to it in order to gain statehood. They were politically b-slapped, and now they get the same on the field. It must be sad for them to know that the only time they've won The Game in a seven year stretch is because the NCAA took OSU's win away.

Lol....Has the big ten fielded a team during the last decade that even had chance at winning a championship ? .......and NO, I'm not talking about your grandfathers Rosebowl which no one watches unless it's the only game on!

SEC football is championship football ! The big tens best team played a SEC team yesterday and it was over half way through the second quarter ! I guess there may be some satisfaction in being the best team in the big ten at years end, and ranked 11th or 12th overall !

Just because they are ranked higher in the preseason doesn't mean that school up north is the best team in the Big10(+2).

Sec yes has been the dominate conference. But they a few schools that raise the SEC up and make everyone else look better. The top 5 schools now minus Oklahoma are pretty good. And try are not all SEC.

Ohio State beat Miami in the national championship game in 2003, lost to Florida in 2007 and LSU in 2008. I'd say three national championship games in a decade is pretty strong.

Nice pic of the razor back ! They should be damm good this year ! SEC west is will decide national championship !

Ohio played who this week ? ......and play who next week ? Matter of fact, who the third and forth week ?? They are paying allot of money for Meyer to bring SEC football to the big ten......your begging for SEC football......you need SEC football.....don't see it for a long time!

The national championship games played by Florida and LSU against the big tens best were not games.......they were complete blow outs and over at the half.

Big ten and the Rose bowl.......is that game even televised anymore ? If so, is it still in black and white !

SEC.........SEC........SEC........

Just to set the record straight....Urban Meyer is a Buckeye. He took this job to come home and be close to his family. I haven't heard anyone here begging for sec football.
With that being said all conferences have up years and down years. So to get a true look at conference dominance one must look at the entire body of work. Let's look at some facts shall we? I'll give the edge on national championsips to the sec 35-32. If you want to add 1 by Arkansas (not sec at the time) that brings your total to 36, but by adding 5 by Nebraska (not big 10 at the time) that brings the total by school to 37....edge Big10 teams. How many Heisman trophy winners have came from the sec? 10 (Ohio St has 7 by it self. That's more than half of the sec's total.) How mamy have come from the Big 10? 15 How many sec players have won the Heisman more than once? 0 How many Big 10 players have one it more than once? 1 Ohio State's Archie Griffin. Edge in ALL categories to Big 10.

Steeljag---If Urban Meyer coming to the Big10 means we want sec football, does the fact that Nick Saban came from the MAC then Big10 mean you're begging for MAC/Big10 football......you need MAC/Big10 football.....don't see it for a long time!

Sorry blackrubi003, but I didn't forget a thing. You are correct the Tide has 14 (btw, I pulled for the Tide to beat that team up north) & sec last 5, BUT, you apparently missed "With that being said all conferences have up years and down years. So to get a true look at conference dominance one must look at the entire body of work. 5 years is not an entire body of work, but, if you really want to look at dominance over a short term period, look at Notre Dame from '39-'47. That's just 1 team.
btw, for those who think I hate the sec...nope, I enjoy all college football. I think you have to look at the whole picture and not have tunnel vision. There are folks from each major conference who can give valid reasons why their conference is better.

Besides, I just like poking at folks to get a good discussion going.

Lol...big dog reaching back to the 30s for stats...Nice! Speaking of Ohio names of fame .....the great "crazy ole Woody Hayes"........The great Art Schlichter......Maurice Clarett......possibly the most famous of all Terrelle " Tattoo" Pryor....lol !

The best conference by far is SEC.......followed by the big 12 .........

I will concede this......OSU is the best team in Ohio !!

College FB is always a good topic !

All you guys / gals enjoy your holiday !

bigdog21.....,It's kinda hard to compare whole bodies of work between big 10 and SEC when the big ten is the oldest conference in division 1 athletics, formed in 1896, first known as the western conference then the big nine then big ten.., and SEC has only been around since 1932. the big 10 is 36 years older than SEC.
