Haha. Yeah. I'm in the 4th largest city in new England. So there's ALOT of people around. But I got a good set of jeeping buddies I go out with. Luckily like 80% of them are also career mechanics so if anything breaks or needs fixing they can always help

Ha that always helpful! My dad is a master mechanic so he's been helping me with my build. There's a lot of people around here, I'm just north of Detroit Michigan, in sterling heights, but there is no land available to ride on nearby. Everything is mid/northern Michigan. So at the moment I have no riding buddies hoping to find some on here!

Ohhh yeah. I just have to drive 30 min to get to some serious wheeling. So it's not bad I can't complain

I will definitely post some pics of it. If I find time I think I am gonna start a build thread. The 8.8 was kind of down on my list for a little while till I blew up my 35 a week or two ago. I've got it patched back together and I hope it holds for the 4 hour drive home haha.

Oh and the more detailed the better for the pictures! Also, where are you getting the axel from/got it from? Online or from a donor explorer? Also how much did you pay for it? Sorry for the million questions, I'm just doing "research"

No, it's cool. Trust me I ask a thousand questions and read for like 3 days before I do anything haha. And lucky for you guys I just got a digital camera for my birthday so no more crappy cell phone quality pics. I got my axle from a guy on craigslist with 3.73 gears. It's from a 98ish explorer and has the disc brakes. I had a friend that regeared his 4.10 8.8 to 4.88s so I got the used 4.10s for $50! I am gonna try the regear myself and my dad is gonna check over it before I put it in the jeep. My 8.8 also has the limited slip diff which is a plus. When I do the swap I will do a thread on it with lots of pics and post a link here.

Well the ford 8.8 is actually stronger than a Dana 44. And for the cost, why wouldn't you just find a 8.8 to throw in? It's cheaper and stronger haha. (I don't know if you knew that already, I'm not trying to be an a** about it, I apologize if I seemed so.)

X2 on the ford 8.8 I picked up a brand new factory 8.8 that was thrown away by ford for free. I have probably 50k miles on mine and can't hurt it lots of abuse even ran it out go gear oil once (long story) but it survived and still going strong.

I knew I was a senior today when I finished my last final in 13 minutes and signed my job offer as I was leaving. The look on those freshman's faces were priceless.
