Yeah, 44s are EXPENSIVE. and I read an article some where I think it was JP or something that tested the 44, 8.8, and a 60 and the 8.8 withstood like 1000 more pounds of pressure than the 44 before shearing an axle shaft. And no you didn't sound like an a** haha.

There is a thread on here somewhere with tons of info on axels, that's where I got my info from. Dana 60 is still stronger than 8.8 but theres no need for a 60 for majority of people. Especially someone on a college budget haha

Yeah, If I ever break my 8.8 I'm doing something I shouldn't be and a lot of other stuff will probably give first. haha.

Plus 8.8 is cheap and plentiful. Just a little bit of welding.

Agree, that's why when the time comes, I'll be looking around for an 8.8 to throw under there

It looks good! What brand and model is it do you know? And how do you like it? What kind of 33's you got too?

Unfortunately I bought the Jeep with the lift on it and the guy i got it from really had no idea what he had so ive just had to look around and try and figure everything out. I know its a ProComp lift stage I or II and i like it, the ride is a little stiff which i like the feel of. The tires are just the BFG A/T.

I have used mine several times, and it has always done the job. I have pulled myself out, my friends out, a few stumps and a big a** tree out of my uncles pond with it. I think I live about 4 hours south west of you.

My dad welds but he said before he would weld brackets for a new axel he'd need a better welder haha. I'm guessing ours is crap, but it gets the job done. I guess investing in a new welder is a smart idea for a high torque area..
