Unhappy College shooting

You just about have to get combat pay to go to school any more. I sure hate for those folks and am sorry for their loss.

Of course another one, the wackos know the only place you can be sure there won't be anyone able to defend themselves or stop your homicidal rampage is a school campus. The ultimate gun-free hunting zone..

This is what happens when you disarm law abiding people.

They have no way of defending themselves if need be.

This notion of "gun free zones" is a bunch of PC BS!

If I was retired and not dependent on my salary, I would gladly volunteer to hang around the local college (armed and under a contract with the school) to help be a deterant. For free too.

But then they would be having other problems with all the reports of an armed old guy leering at all the young college girls.

I'm kinda torn on my opinion of the whole carrying at schools. there always will be pro's and cons over it, but if we let people get away with carrying at colleges whats gonna let them think that they can't carry at th HS or ES? and with all the stupid people that are allowed to carry consealed whats gonna stop them from accidently letting one of the school kids get ahold of it? I dono I carried at the college I went to but I was sworn in at the time. I agree that the people at VT should have had something and that the dean is a f****** idiot anyway it really needs to be taken care of somehow. wether that means have 24 hr police or armed campus security at every campus something needs to be done. but at least the shooter is dead this time.

I think if the national press would stop giving so much coverage to the shooter that these things would not happen as often. As was the case with the shooter here in Omaha last month. The kid wanted his name in the spotlight on his way out and he even wrote that down on his note. What did the press do with such information...gave him exactly what he wanted, his name, his face and his note all over every news station for all the other cowards who shoot unarmed people to see.
IMO, instead they should treat it just like the guys that run out on the football field during the game. Don't show his face and only list his as "some idiot" who got his ass kicked and thrown out of the ball park. Without the national recognition these cowards would have to find another way to be famous for a day.

It would scare me to death to know that some people with CCPs are out in public with weapons. I had a friend who recently attended a class and he said there were at least three people in his class that should NEVER have recieved a permit. One of them actually pointed a loaded weapon at the instructor while on the range and still got a permit.
Oh well, I guess the $75.00 the dude made from each person attending the class was worth risking his and everybody else's life over.

Why would you want a gun free zone at any school?
Gun free zones are merely target rich environments for lunatics.

Laws? most people that go through the hoops to get a concealed permit tend to be very law abiding citizens.

The problem with relying on campus security is you would need an armed guard in every room, on every corner, basically anywhere students might congregate. No school can afford that. If the students and faculty that were qualified were allowed to carry then they become their own security force.

When seconds count, the police are only minutes away.

College campus', shopping malls, anywhere people congregate should be "clothing free" zones. No place to conceal ANYTHING.

Creating laws to prevent certain people from getting weapons is not going to solve the problem. Just like with drugs people will find a way around the law and will then be carrying illegal weapons. Or worse yet resort to homemade weapons.

Agree 100%. Gun laws ONLY prevent law abiding people the right to get a and carrying a gun. Criminals and lunatics on the other hand have noticed no such slow down on their ability to get a gun no matter what laws have been put into place.

i carry weapons by myself and i am pro guns (most people here hate guns).
but when i see what guns can do i sometimes wish that guns would never have been invented.
i don´t want to think about what parents have to pass through when their kid was killed in such a college shooting.

Hopefully, nothing. We don't need for every teacher to be packing heat, but the knowledge that some might be carrying would go along way to dissuade a few of these nut jobs. Have you noticed they never go after a police station or a gun club, where there will likely be people who can defend themselves? They go after the places where they KNOW no one is allowed to have a gun, so all the law abiding people are easy pickins for the deranged loon who wants to go out in a "blaze of glory" to get as many as possible before somebody finally takes them down. Pretty soon, teachers are going to start ignoring the prohibition and start carrying anyhow, as the only way to protect themselves and the students in their care.

kinda torn about the carry on campus part maybe teachers but students will have these weapons with them after classes when the partying begins and that could get ugly ( not that some don't carry anyway) , also agree that they need to quit glorifying these pieces of crap and cut down on the media coverage of these a-holes. Just my opinionated opinion.
