This mathamatical equation is unique;
142857 x 1 = 142857
142857 x 2 = 285714
142857 x 3 = 428571
142857 x 4 = 571428
142857 x 5 = 714285
142857 x 6 = 857142

This means, the numerals 1-4-2-8-5-7 always stay in the exact same sequence, simply change which number starts the sequence.

And:
142857 x 7 = 999999
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
and the really really important fact is do you believe me? How many will do the math themself to check?

The Cleveland Browns retired the number 44 jersey worn by Ernie Davis even though Davis never played a single down for the Browns.

My daughter missed her GSU freshman spring semester grade point average of a 'B' by .02 points. Completely useless information and irritating too!!!

Fact: while adding a column of numbers if comes up different the second time and ends in a 9, you have inverted two numbers somewhere.

The whine of a Frenchman really isn't that different from recordings of a whale at the surface... I believe this to be true.

And to some obscure baseball factoids!

Ricky Henderson has the most stolen bases at 1,406, yes, but also holds the record for being thrown out while attempting to steal a base, 335 times. He is 6th in all time outs at just over 8500.
Whitey Ford pitched 283 innings in 1960 but allowed no stolen bases. Only 3 attempts were made, all unsuccessfully.
Next is a tie - Juan Alvarez and Ed Olwine both pitched 80 career games without a single win.
Cal Ripken Jr turned plenty of double-plays, but holds the record for hitting into double plays at 350.
Pete Rose has the most at bats and hits, but also holds the record for the most outs (10,328). Hammerin Hank Aaron is second, with 9136 - and Cal Ripken Jr is fourth with 8893. Rose also finished with more walks than strikeouts, a relatively rare feat.
Herman Long, who played at the previous turn of the century, had more errors than any one else: 1096 in 1875 games, an average of .58 errors every game he played.
The least at bats (not plate appearances) by a MLB team in a 8 1/2 inning game is 19, the most in a full 9 inning is 20, both having 27 plate appearances.
The Great Ty Cobb holds the record for times stolen home at 54, with the number 2 Max Carey at 33, George Burns at 3 with 28, and Honus Wagner with 27 - everyone else has less than half of Ty Cobbs record. Jackie Robinson, Babe Ruth, and Lou Gehrig all did it 10 or more times. Ty Cobb and Honus Wagner hold some other interesting records, too - the most career times a player has stolen second, third, and home bases in the same inning. Ty Cobb is the all time leader at 4 times, and Honus Wagner the NL record holder with 3. The last time that happened in either league was 1996, and it happened in both about 45 days apart.
Adam Greenburg was called up from the minors for Detroit and in his 1st major league plate appearance, on his first pitch, he was struck in the back of the head forcing retirement. Last October, seven years after that 1st PA, Miami signed him to a one-day contract and allowed him 1 at-bat, he (happily) struck out on 3 pitches.
Archibald "Moonlight" (Doc) Graham really did play a game without an at bat, though he did not make a plate appearance (or officially save a girl in a Kansas field from a hot dog). He graduated medical school the year before his first major league season and was only used in part of 1 game, only playing outfield and not batting. He retired after that year and obtained his medical license, becoming a generous practicioner often giving miners children free eye exams and glasses. However he is not the only one to have a game played and no at bat (there's quite a few, actually). Jose Parra had 4 plate appearances, but had 2 sacrifice hits and 2 walks, giving him 0 at bats and a record batting average of .000, yet a 1.000 on base percentage.

You can literally hike from the Pacific to the Atlantic ocean on a single hiking trail. It's called the American Discovery Trail and it spans over 6,800 miles.

Baby robins eat over 14 feet worth of earthworms per day.

High Heels were originally made only for men. Only after they became a fashion statement did women begin wearing them (they were used as a cavalry shoe).
