Crazy Weather

OMG - we just had this storm roll in from no where.

Just a few minutes ago - there was a spot of purple... which is like really bad. During this storm we had 3 lightning strikes less than 200 yards from the house. That was the scariest thing ever. One of them I was looking right where it hit. I think I jumped 5ft back and yelled a couple of obscenities. And the forecast for the next few days looks the same I guess. I'm starting to get sick of all this damn rain

Well - its just sprinkling right now and we went to go feed the horses. We walked past my aunts house and noticed some big chunks of tree on the ground, looked up and saw that the tree has some giant splinters. It was hit! You can walk around to the front side and see where the lightning came through the other side and where it stopped.

My aunt stopped us when we were walking by and asked if our phone was working because hers wasn't. So we went to the other side of her house where her phone box is, and it was blown to pieces! The cover was about 15ft away and all the wires were fried and mangled with a burnt spot on the house.

I guess when the lightning hit the tree it must have arced over the house and hit the box. Further inspection shows no damage to the house or anything, jut the phone box.

Man it's been extremely hot and humid here, so much so that I would welcome some rain! We haven't had much of it lately. Might get some tomorrow. I hope it takes the stickiness out of the air.

Anytime it rains in August, I'll take it. We had a wet July, but this week has been mid to upper 90's and very, very dry. Supposed to go over 100 this next week.

We got some of that love down here to AZ, took a helluva rain for about 15 minutes tonight. We have definitely gotten a nice amount. It's the earliest I can think of where they have lifted the first restrictions in the national forests in AZ.

It sprinkled all through the night and into this morning, ~7:30am. They might have lifted the restrictions, but I still don't trust stupid people.

last nite we had a storm like that, we had hail the size of big marbles, (never seen hail b4, not a common thing up here) and the most exciting thing was the way it just came over the mountain out of no where and we were in the water swimming and then a bolt hit about 800 feet away and scared the sh*t out of us!!

Weve had 0 rain, 70% crop loss, and hot/humid air. sucks, but thats what you get when you let the US and china, etc. mess with the weather. Chaos theory is coming to bite us in the butt. Cant stop a storm, and expect it not to hit somewhere else, or make it rain and expect it to still storm 60 miles away. Hell, look at katrina. From what I have read, and by the look of the radar images, they tried to move it away from the refineries and hit New Orleans .

Just watch, HAARP and the other countries messing with weather ,either chemically or with microwaves, is gonna be the death of us.

On another note, 98 here with 85% humidity, sucks. But after spending a couple summers in the desert, it's just an inconvinience. We get storms in the afternoon that are usually small but powerful. Just 10 square miles of hell moving across the map at 40 mph. AzTJ, where did that image come from? www.intellicast.com has good maps too. http://www.intellicast.com/National/...e&enlarge=true Not as detailed but not too bad.

Don't remind me, I will be outside all day, on an extremely large blacktop, surrounded by 200 running automobiles.

111 my butt, I am not going to be alive to post after Wednesday

HOLY $HIT!!!!!!

WE got flooded! That previous picture of the storm went around us and dumped on the mountains behind us. There is a small bridge back on my aunts property that got clogged with debris and overflowed and came down to us.

This was on the otherside of the property next to our cousins house. Normally just a small stream when we get alot of water. And in this first pic you can't tell but there is a small bridge that got clogged and overflowed and got several houses with 8-10" of water.

Great pics AZ, I assume you all are OK. When I was a kid we used to go down to the river and wait for the water to come. Not to smart, but we were kids.

MD declared disaster last week or something. I went to the Eastern shore to OC last weekend, and all the crops I saw were DEAD. I don't know where the 70% came from. I saw 98%. It was a pretty sad thing to see, poor families are going to have a rough year

Did you all lose any animals at all?
