Death Wobble

ok so as of right now I do not own a jeep, two more semesters and I will but thats not the point. I currently drive a 2005 Chevy Colorado. I done a lot of research for when i purchase my jeep and I've seen some threads about the death wobble. Can other vehicles get the death wobble? I think my truck might have it. it has about 99800 miles and the steering wheel shakes when I go 60+. Just wondering if anybody has any input. Im not a gear head so please laymen terms. any input would be great! Cheers!

I don't know technical stuff, but the death wobble makes the whole rig wobble and shake like it's coming apart. I was going about 55mph and hit a washboard stretch of road, and all of a sudden it felt like the whole thing was going to collapse, and the only way to fix it was to just let it slow down. It's very disturbing. Just the steering wheel shaking sounds like its own problem.

Good luck with having your own Jeep!

If you are getting a shaking at highway speeds, get your tires checked, and get them balanced. I had wobble, it only showed up after hitting bumps in the road and would go away after slowing down. I think true death wobble, the only way to stop it is to come to a complete stop. The cause of mine was the lower ball joints, I replaced those and it drives great now!!
