Did you hear about the tornado in Cali yesterday?

I drove through them......

The news is reporting two, but there were actually four. I watched one knock over a semi in the north bound lanes and then cross the freeway and knock over some train cars that were parked on a siding. Notice in the second picture: the power pole leaning in the tree and arcing.

The whole thing was scarrier than sh!t, but very cool.....

We have been "enjoying" the effect of tornadoes in the midwest forever. Glad to be able to share with the rest of the country! Add this to the list of earthquakes, fires, mudslides, ect. It really makes life interesting, no?

We used to call those dust devils when I lived down there...

I went through one in my semi just north of Sacramento a few years ago, lots of fun.

I had heard there were a couple tornadoes yesterday... Didn't see anything here... Just lots of rain, lightning and thunder.

Glad you're OK!

I'm still kinda used to that sort of weather. However Tiny tells me that it very seldom rains here and a thunderstorm is almost out of the question. You should have seen the look on her face. She told me it had been years since she had witnessed a decent thunderstorm.

Oh yeah... In the middle of our apartment complex is a storm water ravine. Not too big. I'd say large enough to drive a jeep down the center. Anyway, once the rain slacked off yesterday, that sucker was flowing hard and fast. There is an abutment in it (I guess its there to slow the force of the water). Hell, I could have "stationary surfed" that thing... That is if I knew how to surf!

Darn it all...I've been in Kansas for 4 years and have yet to see a tornado and you guys are having em in Cali. Not fair.. Now I'm leaving for UK and I don't think they have them there.
